Employers and jobless workers may receive no-cost assistance with hearings before BW&UC administrative
law judges or the Michigan Employment Security Board
of Review.
Employers can receive information about employer
numbers, employer liability, coverage of employee
services, termination of liability, determination of successorship, or status of liability appeals. Also the source
of materials new employers need to comply with
Michigan's unemployment insurance law.
For personalized service, use the last three digits of your
employer number to contact your team.
At/volutelielruiting-Advocates are independent contractors who represent employers and claimants in the hearing process. Advocates need not be attorneys. New
Advocates are often needed. In order to be an Advocate, an individual must pass a written general knowledge examination relating to Michigan's unemployment
insurance law.

The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) and NAFTA
Transitional Adjustment Assistance (NAFTA-TAA) programs provide benefits for workers who lose their jobs
due to increased imports. Weekly Trade Readjustment
Allowances (TRA)and NAFTA-TRA payment are part of
these benefits.
A company, union, a group of three or more workers, or
(ifpetitioning for NAFTA-TAA) a community-based organization may file a petition to have the company certified
by the U.S. Department of Labor. Certification means
affected workers can apply for TRA/NAFT A-TRAat their
local BW&UC customer service offices.
