Yasher koach on the assigned seating! It's a really great move. Thank you
for spending the time on it.
Mrs. F. Bessler
Wow! Thank you for sending me this nachas note. It means a lot to us.
Shimon comes home so happy everyday and we know who this is attributed
to. Shana Tova!
Dear Rabbi Rawicki and Rabbi Biller,
We just want to share with you how amazing it was for our son to have his
own, specially prepared Machzor for davening on Yom Kippur. Shul
davening in general can be overwhelming for young children just learning
how to daven ,and the lengthy, unfamiliar Yom Kippur davening can leave
them totally lost. Thanks to the special Darchei Noam Machzor, our son was
able to be part of the davening and experience the beauty of the Yom Kippur
tefilos. Thank you Rabbi Biller!

TEHILIM ASIFA
YDN had the zechus of being one of the 150 schools
participating in the annual tehilim asifa directed by
Misaskim. The asifawas broadcasted from the Bobover
Bais Medrash
in
Brooklyn.
Over
10,000
children from
five
different
continents
simultaneously
followed along
via
live
hookup.
The
boys davened
with
much
emotion and concentration as they were mispallel to
Avinu Shebashmayim to send a refuah shleima l’cholei
amo.
3RD GRADERS BEGIN RASHI
Rabbi Biller’s third graders began learning Rashi for the
very first time! To
celebrate
this
important occasion
they
had
a
“geshmake”
Rashi
party! They had so
much fun handing
out and getting the
goodies brought in
by the boys! They
now truly deserve their title “Third grade Talmidim”!
SHIUR ON SHIURIM
Rabbi Lowy’s fourth graders can now
visualize what they learned in '‫משנהב‬.
The amount of food a person would
be ‫ חייב‬for eating on Yom Kippur is
equal to a large date including the pit.
T.A.P.INTO TEFILLAH
Our ‫ כחהתפלה‬is our supreme weapon
and key to success. If davening without understanding
the meaning has such power, imagine what we can
accomplish when we know and understand what we
are saying. In Rabbi Plotzker’s 6th grade the talmidim
start off their day with T.A.P. - Tefillah Awareness
Program, wherein a segment of tefillah, starting from
the beginning of ‫ שחרית‬is explained and learned
through.

Safety Rules
Bike Safety:
ALWAYS wear a helmet when riding a bike or a scooter.
Make sure it fits properly with your ears between the "V". It should
be tight enough that it doesn't move around. It will only protect
you if it is worn properly. Never ride your bike in the middle of the
street. Try to ride on a sidewalk, watching out for people who are
walking, or ride on the side of the street.
Pedestrian Safety:
Younger children should never cross the street without a
grown up or older sibling holding their hand. Never walk out from
between 2 parked cars because drivers cannot see you. Walk on the
sidewalk. If there is no sidewalk, walk close to the curb facing
traffic, so you can see cars coming. Always look carefully before
crossing the street and use a crosswalk when available.
Wear a reflector when walking at night. Please remember
when you walk to shul at night that cars can't see you!!! Let's not
endanger ourselves! Always wear a reflector and walk facing
traffic!!!

A stranger is anyone you don't know. Even someone from
our community is a stranger if we don't know him/her. Never go
with a stranger. If a stranger comes over to you and talks to you or
asks you to go with them, yell "Stranger Danger! Help!" and run
away. You can run into your house or to a trusted adult or a
trusted neighbor's house. Tell your parents immediately. Call the
police immediately. If you notice anything unusual in your
neighborhood, like an unknown car circling, tell your parents and
call police immediately. The police want you to report anything
strange or unusual.
