An arrow points the way. “No one will tell us what to do We don’t want this delay”. And so we take a different route, A road so bright and new. It leads us to a dead end path Now what are we to do.? So often when the Master calls We decide that we know best We take the way that looks so bright And search for happiness. We need to double back and heed The warning that we share.. The detour road is not as smooth But it will get you there. _ Dolores Fruth G R A CE Page 8 31 24 Sunday 25 18 17 Food Pantry 11 10 2p Rochester Manor Svc 3 Meals on Wheels Tiny Tots 21 28 Table Table 6p Community Table Prayer Warriors 27 14 6p Community Table 6p Community 7 6p Community 26 20 13 6 Bible Study 7p Wild Weds 6p Every Wednesday Thu 9:30-11a Table 6p Community 19 7p Property 12 6p Youth Min 5 A.A 7:30p Every Tuesday Mon-Fri Every Sunday Worship 8:30 AM 10:00 AM Tue Mon Sun Wed July 2016 G R A CE Page 9 1:30P McGuire Svc. We will study the word of God, share His love, and expand His kingdom by nurturing, sharing freely, and working together. INTERN PASTOR ANGELA SMITH We Celebrate Freedom! We celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence on July 4th every year since 1776. We celebrate this day because it is the day we recognize our freedom from Great Britain, along with the a fresh new start in the freedom that “that all [people] are created equal and independent, that from that equal creation they derive rights inherent and inalienable, among which are the preservation of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.”[1] It occurred to me in thinking about this event that we have another Independence Day, one that is specific to each Christian. It is our the anniversary of our Baptism. Do you celebrate you Baptismal Anniversary? It is the day that we are Baptized in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit that we are set free from the power of sin, death, and the power of evil. We are free to be in relationship with God and with each other as members of the body of Christ. We are free to live in love. Let us celebrate freedom in the month of July!
