BYOB - Bring Your Own Bags
Bean Bags, Bean Toss, Cornhole, Corn Toss (or whatever you
call it) is here! Similar to horseshoes except you use boxes
called platforms instead of metal stakes and corn bags instead
of horseshoes. Volunteer Park is now home to two courts
with our newly-installed cement bags platforms. One court is
junior-sized for children; the other for adults. Games are safe
for everyone, and anyone can play. No muss; no fuss. Just
bring your own bags and you are ready to play. If you don’t
have bags, call our office at 630-466-7436. We’ll lend you
some of ours.

Retired American Flags
The Sugar Grove Park District and Boy Scout Troop 26 have
collaborated to provide a collection box for tattered American
flags. As an Eagle Scout service project and with the help of
the Park District, the collection box is open to the public for
the disposal of worn out American flags. It is located at 61
Main Street, behind the park district’s administration building.

Cooperative Agreement
with the Fox Valley Park District
The Sugar Grove Park District Board of Commissioners has
entered into a cooperative agreement with the Fox Valley Park
District. This agreement allows Sugar Grove residents to
participate in Fox Valley Park District programs and facilities
for the same fees they charge their residents. The resident discount applies to both season passes and daily admission rates.
Youth Athletic Team
Friendship Requests
To request that a child be placed on a team with another child,
please follow these guidelines:
• One friendship request per participant. The friend must also request the participant.
Example: If Billy requests Tommy, then Tommy must also
request Billy.
• Each team will automatically have the coach’s and assistant coach’s children placed on the team. Each head coach is
allowed to request one assistant coach. This will count as their friendship request.
• All siblings within the same age group will be placed on the
same team unless otherwise directed by the parents. This will count as their friendship request.
• Participants who are on the waitlist will be placed as
openings develop without consideration of friendship
requests.
• All correctly submitted friendship requests and practice day advances will be recorded for
consideration, but, as always,
not guaranteed.
• If you have a friendship
request, complete this form.
No phone requests. Please
contact your child’s friend to
encourage them to request
your child as well.

Good Time Guarantee
Sugar Grove Park District
Spring 2013
confident that our recreation programs provide high
quality enjoyment that we are backing them with a
policy called the “Good Time Guarantee”. If you are
unsatisfied for any reason with the quality of
instruction, your child’s ability to adapt emotionally
in the class, or the appropriateness of the class skill
level, you can receive a full refund of your program
registration fee.
Guidelines
At the Sugar Grove Park District, we are committed to
providing the public with high quality recreation
programs. Our residents are important to us and we
feel they deserve quality at all times. We are so
1. Participant must attend the first two classes of a recreation program that spans 6 or more classes.
2. A “Program Refund Application Form” must be filled out appropriately and received by the park
district office prior to the third class meeting.
3. Forms are available online at www.sgparks.org or in our office.
4. This policy does not apply to short-term programs, CARE, and youth athletic leagues.
Program Refunds
All refund requests must be made in writing on the Program
Refund Application Form found on our website at
www.sgparks.org/forms-contracts.
• Class Cancellations by Park District:
If a class is cancelled by the Park District, a full refund will automatically be mailed to the person who was enrolled in the class. If participant is a minor, the refund will be issued to the Parent/Guardian who signs the registration form. No refund form needs to be completed for a class cancellation.
If you wish to apply this refund to another class, you must notify the Park District immediately.
• Refunds After Start of Recreation Program:
As part of our Good Time
Guarantee, a refund can be
made after attending 2 classes
of a program that spans 6
classes or more. Refund form
must be received by the park
district office before the 3rd
class meeting and no service
charge will be deducted. This
policy does not apply to shortterm programs, CARE, or
athletic leagues. No refunds
after the 3rd class meeting.
www.sgparks.org
• Short-Term Program Refunds:
Applications for refunds for programs meeting less than 6 times must be submitted at least 5 business days prior to the first class in order to receive a refund minus a $10 service charge. If application is received less than 5 business days prior to start of program and it causes enrollment to fall
belowminimum and the spot cannot be filled, no refund
will be given. Refund requests will not be awarded after
the class has ended. Instances in which fees are $10 or less,
the service charge will be waived.
• Youth Athletic League Refunds:
Refunds requested before teams are formed will be issued a
full refund minus a $10 service charge. Once teams are
formed, a refund may be issued for athletic team partici-
pants (less costs and $10 service charge) if a replacement player is found or added from a waitlist. If no replacement is found for player, no refund will be issued.
• CARE Program Refunds:
As the payment structure of our CARE program is
complicated, please contact our office if you wish to withdraw from this program. A prorated refund may be
issued minus a $10 service charge.
• Questions About Program Refunds?
Please contact our office at 630-466-7436 or email info@sgparks.org.
