Together Soshana and Portia earned a MACH and ADCH and evolved into a strong team competing at the National level and earning USDAA top ten placements and semi-final byes. Since then, Soshana has trained and competed with four dogs at the highest levels of the sport, including her youngest, Border Collie Glance. According to Soshana, she owes most of her knowledge and skill in this sport to Mary Ellen Barry and Rachel Sanders, with whom she trains as frequently as possible. She is constantly trying to augment her knowledge and increase her skill as a trainer, handler, and teacher. To that end, Soshana has sought out Jenn Crank, Linda Mecklenburg, Jen Pinder, Karen Holik, Daisy Peel, and Susan Salo, among others. Skilled at simplifying and effectively communicating complex handling maneuvers as well as explaining the theory and fundamentals behind the handling method, Soshana strives to promote a fun and healthy learning environment for all handlers and their dogs. She employs a motion-based handling system and advocates a dog-friendly, positive reinforcement training style. Soshana has a long list of career highlights in both AKC and USDAA agility with her four dogs. Her latest winning streak includes #1 Triathlon in the Mid-Atlantic Showcase (May 2013), #2 Steeplechase in the Mid-Atlantic Regional (June 2013), and 1st Place Grand Prix at the New England Regional in July 2013.
