ALPACA CARE
2432 Cuddy Drive
Alpacas are ideal livestock for smaller
farms and country acreage:
Strathroy, Ontario
•
One acre of productive pasture can
sustain 5-8 animals in the summer.
•
They need to be fed hay in the
winter.
•
We feed them a grain mixture
once a day.
•
They need access to fresh, clean
water all the time.
•
They do need a shelter to be able
to stay out of bad weather and
wind.
•
Once a year they need to be
sheared, preferably in the spring to
be cool for the summer and regrow
enough fibre for the winter.
•
Their teeth and toe nails have to
be trimmed at least once a year,
some of the animals will need their
toe nails trimmed more often.

We started our alpaca farm in the summer
of 2004 with 8 beautiful and lovable
alpacas.
We shear our alpacas once a year and have
their luxurious fibre processed into yarns,
socks, duvets and other fibre products.
Visitors are always welcome. The alpacas
have an open barn and quite often are
outside and you can enjoy them from the
road.
We train our alpacas and llamas to walk on
a leash and become comfortable around us
humans and offer workshops for alpaca
care and how to start your own alpaca
business.
For a closer look and an organized visit
please make an appointment. ½ day visits
are $ 50.00 for groups of up to 5 people.
The products are available at our booth at
the Strathroy Family Flea and Farmers
Market, 28592 Centre Road in Strathroy, on
our website and Etsy page.
