A three member team The enthusiasts getting themselves registered during the visit of Indian Navy for recruitment at CT Group of Instituions of the officials of the Indian Navy who had arrived at the campus to begin the two-day procedure for placement drive were Captain R.K Yadav, Commander Navneet Nagi & Lieutenant Commander R.P Singh. The successful phase of this round would enable the students to undergo the subsequent training that will ensure the selection of the candidate for the service of the nation. The selected candidates will be placed on the position of sub lieutenant & get the salary package as per the norms applicable to the rank. Placements-facts and myths Formal attire, polished shoes, tucked in shirts and a resume in hand; this is a common sight we see at any campus these days on the day of placements, which provides its students the facility to get a job while they are in their last semesters through campus placement which is either ON campus or OFF campus. With emerging new corporate trends and globalization spreading its wings at a vast pace, the colleges have taken it as their responsibility to help the students in finding out their dream jobs. A highly facilitated campus, proficient faculty, industrial exposure, grooming a student's overall personality and much more is taken into consideration to make the students corporate ready. The people in the Training & Placements cell keep on running on their toes throughout the year to meet the officials in big companies to bring them to the campus. Despite the cities becoming the industry hubs we often see these days that a large number of the youth is unemployed and desperately searching for jobs, looking at this scenario a common myth has boomed up in people's mind that there are no or very less jobs available these days whereas this myth can be proved wrong very easily when big giants like L & Whirlpool, Aircel, Lupin and many more to name actively participate in the on campus hiring activities such as Job Fests and Pool Campus Drives. Now the situation which is bewildering many of our minds is that in a system where the corporates are ready to hire the youngsters, the campuses are able to bring them and students are appearing for the interviews, what makes the young talent not being shortlisted in their dream companies on their dream profiles? The campuses are spending way too much on the overall growth of their students, be it academia or soft skills, then what is making the students lagging behind. W ell, there are certain reasons which lead to this situation and many a times they remain latent. Let us first of all understand that the organizations do have openings and are ready to take people on board but they are focusing on to develop their competencies to avail the opportunities and face the challenges of the dynamic global environment. Such demanding environments require people who are innovative, flexible and adaptable to the changing situations of everyday life. People, who are industry ready, can take the initiatives, which can go ahead and lead others, are the biggest need of the hour. When the companies visit the campuses they analyses and judge the students on the same parameters and majority of times they don't get the desired results. The academic percentage is the another reason, many top notch companies have made a criteria of 60% throughout so whenever a company with this condition visits the campus for placements only a certain number of students are able to reach the level. Thus, parents and students end up blaming the campuses and companies for not making up to the mark placements. However, adding to the further situation is the fixed mindset of the students, when they enter the campus at the first day of college; they come with a very different attitude. A big brand with a huge package is their only dream. Though their dreams are right but it requires a lot of hard work, patience and persistence to reach that level.
