August NMI Emphasis LINKS
The LINKS program of the Church of the Nazarene is a network of personal connections between
missionaries and local churches. This gives each church an opportunity to become personally
acquainted with the missionary family and their field of service. Through regular correspondence
with the missionaries, updates from their field, and even through deputation services while the
missionaries are on home assignment. The missionaries are encouraged, knowing people care
and pray for them. The relationships built over time personalize names and faces that both the
missionaries and they LINKS churches value highly.

Saturday
8:00 am – 4:00 pm
Cost: $20.00 for Friday Snack, Breakfast, & Lunch
Lodging: Lodge Room $30 for two ($5/each for 3rd & 4th person) Dorms $12 each per person
Purpose:
To equip pastors, teachers and lay leaders with Bible story-telling skills that appeal to all ages
for evangelism and discipleship.
Objective:
To introduce a Socratic inductive narrative method of making Christ like disciples that is
beyond literacy. Or in other words, “To tell stories and ask questions, like Jesus did.”
Description:
How do you disciple the twenty-something’s who don't or won’t read? Are you frustrated with
the level of Biblical ignorance among the common church members? Does your teaching and
preaching seem to land on Teflon hearts where nothing seems to stick? Learn how to tell THE Bible
story so that it sticks like Velcro in people’s hearts. This simple, yet profound method is easily and
quickly reproduced so that disciples can become disciple-makers. Discover a powerful resource that
has multiplied thousands of disciples.

SUPERCAMP 2015
2015 Louisiana District Super Camp was fantastic this year. The theme for the year was
LIFEAPPS where Michael Pigg, the South Texas District NYI President, spoke to the
students about living out our faith through life application. He emphasized the inward
disciplines (meditation, prayer, fasting and study), outward disciplines (simplicity,
solitude, submission and service), and communal disciplines (confession, worship,
guidance and celebration) of this idea, and challenged students to practice these
more in their life.
Remedy, the SNU Worship Band led us in worship and the SNU Crew helped lead the
small groups for students. Having great young leaders investing in the lives of our youth
was such a blessing. The students also had opportunities to participate in games like
Kiddie Pool Kickball, water balloon volleyball and Trash can ball as well as activities like
quizzing, swimming and Super Book to finish out the week. At the end of the week the
Dee Boyt Cup was awarded to the team with the most points during the week and this
year’s winners were The Phoenix.
Overall the week was a lot of fun, but more importantly God met us at Rocky Creek and
helped to radically change the lives of the students on the Louisiana District, whether it
was a prayer of salvation, a deeper walk with Jesus, or even submitting to a calling of
God, each student was impacted for Christ and we Praise God for it. Thank you to all
who supported camp this year for without your prayers and support Super Camp would
not be the life changing week for our students. — David Hater

NYC 2015 was amazing! God was present!
From July 8-12, God moved, called,
equipped, and empowered those present at
the conference. The students and adults who
attending NYC will be forever changed
because of this “once in a lifetime”
opportunity. God’s kingdom is real!
Before NYC began, we met with Chad, the youth pastor of New Breed Church. New Breed is a
newstart church in the west side of Louisville, KY. The Shawnee community is an underprivileged
part of town. The majority of people live in poverty. Chad led us on a prayer walk around the
community. We met a couple of the church members. God is doing some great things in this
community! Please remember the Shawnee community when you pray. Racism is very real in this
part of town. But God can break those barriers!
A newsletter for the Louisiana District Church of the Nazarene
For our Mission With Others (MWO) project, we worked with Uspiritus, the largest orphanage
organization is Kentucky. We cleaned a creek and organized clothes. We also got a chance to meet
a few of the kids (we were not allowed to take their pictures). Please pray for Uspiritus as they
minister to kids and families in Kentucky.
When NYC registration began, our students, who had collected baby clothes, diapers, and
other things babies need, brought “bundles of hope.” These bundles of hope will help serve
over 200 organizations and countless families in the Louisville area.
Again, God moved in a mighty way at
NYC! Thank you for your support
during our time in Louisville, KY. May
God continue to bless our students,
youth workers, pastors, and churches
as we continue to seek Him and His
kingdom on earth. Thy Kingdom
Come!

Just a reminder that there are three ways you can report your SDMI statistics!
They are due the Wednesday after the last Sunday of each month!
On the Louisiana Website: ladistrict.org (click on Ministries tab, SDMI and Monthly
report) This is our preferred way to report as it will go right into an Excel file and enable
William to do his job best.
Email your report to wmbonee@gmail.com
Call in your report to William at 225-926-8358 (Please speak clearly and slowly
when leaving a voice mail.) We need to know the name of the church. Monthly AM and
SS averages, Discipleship group averages and any new converts!
