Wir feiern weiter Karneval
www.AnaheimKarneval.US Trotz Krise und Finanzskandal Wir feiern weiter Karneval Prinz Gary I. Prinzessin Caroline I. Greetings from the Elferratspresident W elcome to the 45th season of Karneval at the Phoenix Club! It is a great honor and responsibility for me to lead the Anaheim Karnevalsgesellschaft through the 45th Karneval Season. I am stepping into the footsteps of many great Elferrat presidents of the past and promise to hold up to the high expectations. 45 years of Karneval in the Phoenix Club is a great achievement and bound by many memories, traditions and expectations. The traditions of Karneval are manifold and still - Karneval is changing all the time. This year I visited Karneval in Germany. It was not only highly entertaining and filled with a lot of fun, but it was also a chance to recognize that there is nothing like THE German Karneval. Karneval in Germany is adapting, changing, trying - and becoming more diverse. Karneval in Germany is still appealing and attractive to many young people - a challenge that the Anaheim Karnevalsgesellschaft is facing as well - and overcoming. Our goal is that Karneval at the Phoenix Club remains the place where all generations, from kids through students, parents, and “midlifers” to the traditional audience of Karneval will have entertaining and fun events. 45 years of the Anaheim Karnevalsgesellschaft is a history of challenges, change and adaptation - and so will be the future. So, let us celebrate: “(Trotz) Krise und Finanzskandal - WIR FEIERN WEITER KARNEVAL!” Helau und Alaaf, Holger Claus Elferrats-Präsident und Gruppenleiter Dear Members of the Phoenix Karnevals Gesellschaft, I know that your season is in full swing with several events to come especially the long awaited event in Las Vegas. I wish you all a very successful season and thank you for creating such good fun and excitement in our Club and also congratulations for your always great representation of our Phoenix Club. Helau and y’all have a Happy New Year ! Hans J. Holste President 45 Jahre Karneval in Anaheim... Mit allen guten Wünschen für eine Campagne, die gelingen möge, grüßt mit “Ahoi” Euer Prof. Dr. Herbert Luft Consulis Carnevalis allo “KARNEVALISTAS” H I like this term, it is so “SOCAL”. I learned this name from our “Prinzessin Caroline I.” My picture moved from the upper left to a new place and I’d like to say thanks to all of you who supported me the last ten years and on my first term way back when we started “GAMGA” and before. And to those whose toes I stepped on I say “Sorry”. But everything I did, I did in the interest of Karneval, The Karnevals group, the Phoenix Club Karnevalsgesellschaft and finally: “The Anaheim Karnevalsgesellschaft” at the Phoenix Club”, AKG for short. It’s time to turn the reins over to the younger generation of “Karnevalistas”. For us old folks, I might just start an “AKG-Ältestenrat” or a “Senat” to support the AKG. Please support our new leader Holger Claus and the AKG. Thanks to all former leaders of the AKG but also “Dankeschön” to my “Karnevalsverein” dem Großen Feuerio in Mannheim for letting me learn Fasnacht 101. To all the royalties I helped create “thanks”, and may you never forget the good times. We invite you all to partake of and enjoy the many festive events the group has planned. While we are in times of global economic crises and financial scandals, we once again are here to celebrate Karneval. So as your regal patrons, we would like to offer you a stimulus package which will provide full employment to all the makers of mirth and merriment. But, to receive your bailout you must follow these eleven principles. 1) Dancers we are, so get up out of your seat. Dance away your cares tonight, then tomorrow soak your feet. 2) With goblet or stein held high thus to toast we shall honor each other with a hearty “Prost!” 3) Although we may have significant others, during Karneval we’re all as sisters and brothers. So don’t be alarmed when a stolen kiss you do sight for I hereby declare Kussfreiheit! 4) When “Hände zum Himmel” our theme song is played, take to the dance floor and join the parade. 5) Old friends, new friends, younger and elder please mingle with everyone.... the more the merrier! 6) Life can sometimes be disappointing, “Welcome my 2010 Karnevalistas” I am excited to be the next Prinzessin of the Anaheim g Karnevalsgesellschaft at the Phoenix Club. Lookingg forward to seeing you there at all of our fun festivities we have planned forr you. Dance yourr cares away. Tanzt Euree Sorgen weg. Karneval HELAU, Anaheim HELAU, lub ALAAF. Phoenix Club Prost! Prinzessin Caroline I.. but leave your troubles outside. or you’ll be tarred and feathered, and then maybe tried. 7) In here life is beautiful! Life’s just a cabaret! So make sure you tell everyone they’re gorgeous today! 8) Roles may reverse as a pauper is Prinz, Or men dress as hookers and women as pimps. 9) “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas” they say. But now what with YouTube, you may want to pray! So my advice is always wear a costume or mask, then no one will tag you on FaceBook perchance. 10) When you hear the Polonäse played and we form in a line join in on the silliness, it’s just Karneval time. 11) As the Cajuns say “Laissez les bon temps rouler!” So “Let the good times roll!” and enjoy every day! Phoenix Helau! Phoenix Helau! Phoenix Helau! Anaheim, den 11. November 2009 Seine Tollität Prinz Gary I. (Bonie) und Ihre Lieblichkeit Prinzessin Caroline I.
