More about this not-to-miss event and outdoor fresh-dining experience!
This event is part of an ever-growing movement
sweeping the nation to encourage consumers to get
their food from local sources. These events bring
farmers/gardeners, the chefs and diners together to
enjoy the healthy harvest. "Dinner Under the Stars" is
just one of these events in the Delaware Valley. Other
dining experiences like "Farm to Fork" and
"Outstanding in the Field" have inspired foodies from
across the country to set tables in our nation's
cornfields, restaurants and community gardens to
feed sellout crowds with the Earth's local bounty!
In addition, more and more Americans are hopping on the fresh-food
bandwagon, pledging to become "Locavores", "Slow Food"
Enthusiasts and to "Buy Fresh, Buy Local". Even the First Family is
growing an "organic" garden on the White House grounds to provide
fresh fruits and vegetables for the Obamas and their guests.
The Camden City Garden Club has been bringing the fresh
food movement to the people of this region for 26 years. The Club
has supported the creation of fifteen NEW food-producing gardens in
2010, thirty-one gardens in 2009, and all together sustains over 80
gardens. All provide residents with fresh, healthy food throughout
the City of Camden.
