Seeds of Love Community Garden
Seeds of Love Community Garden ~ Missions for Camden When Kingsland was chosen to be Lovetown USA one of the things mentioned at a meeting was a community garden. As fate would have it, Missions for Camden also had it in mind for their new location in downtown Kingsland. Love trees that will bear fruit were recently added to the garden located at 164 Lee Street in Kingsland, GA (the old Bennett Chevy lot on Hwy 17). The bounty collected will provide additional food for the Missions for Camden food bank. To participate in the Seeds of Love Community Garden, please contact Email: info@iknowjax.com or PH: (904) 345-0755. A Neighbor in Need Last Friday morning, (3-30-2012) the home of Carrie Casey and Joe Proffit's was totally destroyed by fire. They lost everything including clothing, household goods, and most painfully, their beloved dog. They also lost all lifelong mementoes. Carrie had lived in the home since childhood. Thankfully, Carrie and Joe are physically okay. The tragedy is that there was no home insurance. Now they must start all over and find a way to rebuild a home and replace their furniture, clothing, and other items necessary for daily life. It is at times like this that we learn what a warm and loving community we live in. There has been a fund set up at Southeastern Bank, located at 2512 Osborne Road, St. Marys to help Carrie and Joe rebuild their lives. It's under the names of Carrie Casey and Joe Proffitt. If you know what wonderful human beings these two people are, I know you'll want to help. Please visit Southeastern Bank if you are able to help in any way. Carrie and Joe send out their heartfelt gratitude to all those who are already coming forth to try and clean up the devastation. Thank you so much for opening your hearts.
