A Word From Our President
Happy St. Patrick’s Day Go-See-Um’s,
This month we hold our Brown Bag auction after
Saturday Night’s meal. Hal Hauschild has volunteered
to take on the duties of auctioneer, my sincere thanks to Hal for stepping
in. We know he has BIG shoes to fill in place of our dear Ken Long. I have
heard that Hal may have inherited the infamous “Green Hat” so there may
be a bit of Blarney Saturday night after all.
I’ve spoken to a few that were able to attend the winter state rally this past
month. Congratulations to all who participated in the bag & duct tape
theme, I understand the Go See Um’s “Whale” took second place. I’ve also
been told the weather was actually warm!
On the subject of State Rally’s, the application for our area’s State Rally at
Okeechobee KOA is online. If you haven’t already sent your application in,
please do so ASAP. This rally usually fills up and is a great time. We will
compete in the Beanbag baseball tourney and I’m calling all golfers to
help the Go See Um’s take First Place this year in the golf tourney. Our
team of the Sutter’s & the Schlenkers took second last year.
May the luck of the Irish always be with you.

Chere Ruester: chairperson
Bill Watson: has undergone surgery for a total knee replacement. There was more damage than expected.
Bill has been waiting for this surgery for quite a while. We hope all goes well.
Phil George: lost his sister a few weeks ago. Our condolences Phil & Denise.
Pat Sutter: had an MRI recently & John says the results are not very good. The Dr. will try 4 weeks of therapy 3
times a week. Once the swelling goes down then another blocker shot. Pat is on some new pills but it will take
a few days to see if she gets any relief.
Betty Burchell: has not received the relief she was hoping for after back surgery. Betty; hope you are feeling a
little better.
Bob Lindsay: developed pneumonia while waiting to have tests. The tests have been cancelled for now. We
hope all is well. We are all pulling for you Bob.
I, (June Malonson): have been having problems with my knee. Can barely walk without a cane. Had x-rays
and they were..................................wait for it !!!
Normal!!
I wish someone would tell my knee that!

Rob and I were unable to attend the rally due to personal obligations but those
I have spoken with say they had a great time and came in second in the “Plastic
Bags and Duct Tape Contest” Kudos to all of you for all your hard work.
This time they marched in the parade. It is nice to see that the group is
participating in more events.

Games Galore
Norma Hauschild won a bingo game on Tuesday. Bob Moore won two bingos on Thursday, one of which was a coverall.
Ted Scheid won Chicken Foot Lucky folks!
The weather for the rally was almost perfect, a little windy a few days. In fact the wind almost blew the whale away a few
times.
Bean Bag Baseball
Bill repots: We were eliminated in the first round at beanbag baseball. Score was 2 to 1. At least it was not a blowout. All
members at the rally either played or cheered. We looked great in our Good Sam T-shirts.

1lb. can

12 oz. bottle of
Heinz chili sauce
2 T. Firmly packed

1 T. bottled lemon juice
2 eggs
2 T.
soy sauce
¼ T. pepper
½ T. garlic powder
3500 oven
Combine all ingredients except sauce.
Form into walnut size meatballs.
Put on cookie sheet.
In medium saucepan put all sauce ingredients: Cook,
stirring occasionally until smooth and cranberry sauce is
melted.
Pour over meatballs, cover and refrigerate for later.
Bake uncovered 30 minutes.
Denise tells me the way she does them is a little different
than the recipes states. Denise usually makes up the
meatballs and cooks them in the microwave. While they
are cooking, she makes up the sauce and lets it simmer
and as the meatballs come out of microwave, she simply
adds them to the sauce and then lets them simmer for a
while.

Since early times, aquamarine has been believed to
endow the wearer with foresight, courage, and
happiness. It is said to increase intelligence and
make one youthful. As a healing stone, it is said to
be effective as a treatment for anxiety and in the
Middle Ages it was thought that aquamarine would
reduce the effect of poisons.
A legend says that sailors wore
aquamarine gemstones to keep them
safe and prevent seasickness.

Checking on Snoopy
Bob is not feeling well these days so we
are going to leave this report until later.
Either way sounds just delicious. Thanks Denise.
We are looking for your recipe in this spot next . month.
Please take a few minutes to send me a receipe or two.
Doesn’t matter if you served it at a rally or not. People
do like to see the receipe from the months previous rally
tho’. So, if you provide a particularly popular dish; as
were these meatballs, please share the recipe with us. I
We are all thinking of you Bob!

This Month’s Spotlight is on:
John & Jackie Ringley
The Ringleys come to us from a defunct Naples chapter
of the Good Sams Camping Club. Where they held most
offices in the group. They are particularly hard workers
for the club. Jackie never ceases to come up with
interesting ideas for our rallies. One of which is: Eggs in
a bag, and most recently Home Made Soup Pot luck
Dinner”
Christmas Party. John is a past Vice President, and Jackie
is now our Secretary.
The Ringley’s hail from Massillon, Ohio. Jackie pursued a
career in nursing attending Aultman School of
Professional Nursing and John attended Mount Union
College on a baseball scholarship. John was a salesman
for a building supply Co. After they moved to Naples he
earned his certification in kitchen design; and is a cabinet
maker extraordinaire. He now owns his own business in
Naples. John made all the furniture: headboard, dressers
and a row of closets for their bedroom and has just
redone one of their bathrooms. Jackie is semi-retired
continuing to work as a registered nurse. They have lived
in Naples since 1975.
Jackie was in Girl Scouts both in Ohio and Florida and
John was involved in Boy Scouts, and was a Youth
Soccar Coach here in Florida
The Ringleys have 3 children a boy: Mark and 2 girls:
Lisa & Laura the girls live in Florida. Their son lives in
Atlanta, Georga. They are also grandparents to Alisha,
and Great Grand Parents to Kaylee.
The couple loves the outdoors. If you ever have the
occasion to call them you will be speaking to them from
their yard. I recently asked her if she ever spends time in
the house. They have many tropical trees and plants in
their garden. When Jackie is inside she has a room
dedicated to antiques from her granparents and parent’s
homes back in Ohio. It is like visiting a museum with
many unusual items from the 18 and 1900’s and period
pictures of both their families. They are both genealogy
fans. John restored antique cars; and Recently they have
become interested in hydroponic garning.
Family pets are a dog named Shanon and a spectacled
Amazon parrot named Jeremy.
They are good friends and great camping buddies. Rob
and I have had many good times with them.

There it is, an end to another month of great camping
with the Go-See-Um Sams. See you in Okeechobee.
June -30-
The Ringley’s never let much time go by before they
volunteer for a committee: Jackie has been involved in
many Christmas Parties. Jackie & John were on hand
when we were desperate for help with this years
