It grew into a large group that covered a lot of Southern NSW and North East Victoria. NOMINATION FORM Please find below a nomination form for one of the following positions: I, The Second National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Conference aims to explore how communities, governments, service providers and older LGBTI people work together to promote healthy ageing for older LGBTI people and to ensure that the needs of older LGBTI people are understood, respected and addressed in Australia’s aged care policies, programs and services. This conference considers the National LGBTI Ageing and Aged Care Strategy developed by the Australian Department of Social Services in 2012 and asks what have we achieved and what still needs to be done? What is all this about? This an invitation for • gay and lesbian people • aged 18 and above • to talk about experiences of heterosexism Sharing your experiences will inform our research project aimed at better understanding how gay and lesbian people experience and respond to heterosexism. Our hope is that with the knowledge gained from the project, it will lead to improved services for gay and lesbian people and better health promotion campaigns.
