May - Sedona Car Club

Hello Everyone. It’s confession time. I am writing this just after our Executive Board meeting. One of the things discussed at our meetings is how is the upcoming issue of Tire Tracks coming along. Our editor, Arny, said something to the effect of “it’s coming along fine, I just don’t have anything from you yet”. Oops! I’ve had a real busy week and forgot to finish my article and send it to Arny. You know that I am always excited about our car show. Plans are coming along fine. BMW is celebrating its 100th Anniversary this year, so we decided to make BMW our featured car and invited the local (OK, Phoenix) BMW clubs to join. They liked the idea so much it created a new problem for us. It’s a big club, they might have entered too many cars so we are going to have to tell them they will have a limit as to how many cars they can enter. I’m glad they want to participate though. Next week will be Mother’s Day. Happy Mother’s Day to all mothers. We will be having our annual Mother’s Day Brunch at Junipine Resort. This is always a popular event. I look forward to seeing many of you. I’m glad I will be seeing you at the Brunch, because after that I will be (and have been) missing for a while. At the time of our last meeting, we were in California for a big birthday get-together for one of Rachel’s sisters. Next week, at the time of our meeting, I will have the honor of presenting the Sedona Car Club Scholarship to a Red Rock High School Senior. We should all be proud that we give a scholarship each year. I will also miss our picnic. Rachel and I will be attending the wedding of one of our grandsons in Arkansas. We are lucky to have Ed Pittman and others to step forward and take over for me. In July the club is quiet. I’ll see you all in August. First, thank you for your assistance in publishing some information about the 1929 Chrysler roadster that I am selling. Asking price - $50,000 or Best Offer It was valued by appraisal in 2014 at $55,000. (Appraisal available on request.) Contact information: 1929 Chrysler Roadster: It is completely restored and modified to a very high standard. The paint and bodywork, done in jet black is top quality. Everything fits properly, the body is extremely straight, and the paint quality is extremely high. The chrome plating is all fresh looking and excellent quality. The interior is beautifully done in leather, and the top and top bows are excellent as well. It is clean and nicely detailed throughout, both on top and underneath. It looks mostly stock on the outside, except for the lowered stance, wider wire wheels, and wider tires, but in reality it has been extensively modified in a very tasteful way to provide the power and improved driving experience that the street rod community desires. It has a small block Chevrolet engine, dressed up with coated headers, intake manifold and Carter AFB carburetor, and an automatic transmission with a nice aftermarket "Stocklook" shifter. It has Tilt steering column, full instrumenta- PJ Kehoe 714-471-0521 (cell) 928-862-2298 (home) 55 Cathedral Rock Drive, Unit #1 Sedona, AZ 86351 People are welcome to come see the car (I am in the Village). Everything else is the same. Same cost (free for members, ten bucks for visitors), same place, same time, same old crowd, probably the same conversations. If you come on Tuesday, you will remain lonely and hungry. CAR SHOW Last year is was T-Birds. This year it’s Beemers. Because we’ve invited a Phoenix BMW club to participate and there are a LOT of Beemer types who will want to come, you’re advised to fill out your car show entry form (last page of this newsletter) expeditiously or you may not get your car into the show. We expect our 110 car space to fill quickly.
