January 2011
HAPPY NEW YEAR!
From the (new) President……
It is really good to be back in Nashville and Musik-Stadt Region. Shirley and I enjoyed our 2-1/2 years in
Houston, and I had a great time with Lone Star Region and their many DE’s at Texas World Speedway in
College Station, TX….but it wasn’t home. LSR does about 8 really well organized DE’s a year, and I
enjoyed 3 or 4 a year in “Sunny”, but hey, I can do that again now at Barber and Talladega, and maybe
even get enough courage to visit Road Atlanta. LSR didn’t have that many social events and monthly
meetings were board members only unless you had a gripe or two….or wanted money for something.
We did manage to buy another P-car, a 2008 Cobalt Blue 911 from the local Porsche (Sonic) dealer. Those
guys are everywhere. There are actually 4 Porsche dealerships in Houston, plus Ferarri and Lambrogini. I
visited Victory Motors and also another place where they store exotic cars in a climate-controlled 2 story
storage warehouse. Wow, they had everything from muscle cars, to McLaren’s to even a Porsche or 20. I
will share some of those photos in a future article or at a meeting.
Shirley and I are buying a home (our 2nd since the one in TX hasn’t sold) in Franklin so looking forward to
attending club events this coming year. I hope you will share with myself and the board your thoughts and
recommendations on events, drives, good eateries, etc. I also hope you enjoyed the banquet. Shannon
and Michelle and everyone worked hard to make it a success. We are planning a board meeting later in
January to discuss club events for 2011. You are welcome once we firm up the date and location.
Thanks for welcoming us back and voting me as your president again.

To view and update your PCA membership record, including
address, phone, email, and car information, login to PCA.org and go to: Membership >
Member Record.
Changes you make on PCA.org are immediately active in your membership record, and
are sent to your local Region at the end of each month.
Edit the information by clicking the pencil icon, then make your changes and click Save to
update your PCA Membership Account
Membership Notes:
Members have the ability to look up and modify their personal information on
file with PCA National by using the PCA web site. This feature is very important
for members of the Musik Stadt Region because the individual members
email address’ on file with PCA are used when we send out the newsletter
(Solid Gold) notices each month.
All updates are done thru the National PCA web site, www.PCA.org , not the
local Musik Stadt web site. If you know your PCA.org logon ID and password
go to www.PCA.org and use the login mini tab near the top of the page.
Once you are logged in go to the “Membership” tab, on the drop down menu
go to Member Services then “Member Record” click it and then click which
will take you to your personal information which you can update/edit as
necessary. There is a very small pencil to the far right of your record info, that
is the “edit” tab
PCA members that are unsure if they have a PCA.org ID and password should
go to http://www.pca.org/login_help.html for information on ID’s and
passwords established by PCA. New members should have an ID and
password already set up by PCA. An existing member may need to contact
the PCA National office at (703) 321-2111 or email admin@pca.org to get their
ID and password. You will need to provide your PCA Membership Number in
the process.

TENNESSEE REGION PORSCHE CLUB OF AMERICA
WINTERFEST 2011
March 4-6th
We hope you will come be a part of this annual fun-filled, multi-event weekend at the historic Chattanooga
Choo Choo, located near downtown. Competitive events feature Concours d’Elegance, Poker Rally, Tricross, and R/C Autocross, all of which will be complimented by good friends, lots of Porsche talk, and
fabulous cuisine. This location offers easy access to the world class Tennessee Aquarium, IMAX Theater,
Creative Discovery Museum, Bluff View Art District and the fabulous designer shops of the famous
Warehouse Row. Chattanooga, on the banks of the majestic Tennessee River, also offers points of interest
such as the Incline to Lookout Mountain, Rock City and Ruby Falls.
The Chattanooga Choo Choo / Holiday Inn offers a family friendly environment that includes a heated pool,
4 restaurants and a variety of shops on the premises.
The registration fee is $120/car (2 people) or $90 for a single. It will cover: a welcoming party with
beverages & finger foods/dinner, Concours, a Poker Run, R/C Autocross, Tri-cross, Tech Quiz, Awards
Banquet, and Hospitality. Concours classing will be based on the current PCRs. Each class will be judged in
two categories; Touring Full and Touring-Lite (Lite means no engine or storage compartments). We hope
everyone not being judged will participate in the Concours by showing their cars. We have the use of Grand
Central Station, a large heated indoor facility, for Concours preparation, overnight parking and in the event of
poor weather conditions, the Concours.
The schedule of events includes the following: Friday – Concours prep, registration, welcome party and
Tricross beginning at 8pm down at Grand Central Station. Saturday morning, in conjunction with the
Concours, coffee and donuts will be down at Grand Central and the Tech Quiz will be given between 9-10
am. All this will be followed by the Rally, RC Autocross and evening banquet. Hospitality will be open
most of the weekend at Penn Station, that is also where you can find registration on Friday!
Online registration is available at http://www.tr-pca.org/winterfest.asp. Hotel reservations can be made by
phone at 1-800-TRACK29 (872-2529) or at www.choochoo.com. Use reservation code VWI for special
"Winterfest" pricing.
If you have any questions, feel free to contact me, Courtney Robbins, at (423) 894-9446 or

Come see how we redefined the category. Then owned it.
We redefined the sport utility vehicle for one reason and one reason only: the
driver. So they know that they’ll never sacrifice the feeling of goose-bump inducing
performance for practicality. That massive horsepower doesn’t come at the
expense of efficiency. And that business class accommodations don’t mean
having less usable space. The very things that help us connect to the driver.
And quite possibly what helped us win the 2011 Motor Trend Sport/Utility of the
Year®. It’s called Porsche Intelligent Performance. A philosophy of deriving more
from less. But don’t let the award sway you. Come see how the Porsche Cayenne
connects to you like never before. Porsche. There is no substitute.

ALMS: Flying Lizard drivers unchanged for 2011
The Flying Lizard racing team.
Flying Lizard Motorsports confirmed its driver lineup for the 2011 American Le Mans Series on Wednesday.
The driver lineup remains unchanged from the 2010 season: Jörg Bergmeister and Patrick Long will team up in the No.
45 Flying Lizard Porsche 911 GT3 RSR. Seth Neiman and Darren Law will once again team up to drive the No. 44.
"The continuity of three years in a row with the same team in the same series is something I really value," said Long.
"The team chemistry is so important. We've been able to grow as a group over the last few years, and I'm honored to be
able to be back with the Lizards."
Flying Lizard Motorsports will open the 2011 season at the 12 Hours of Sebring on March 19.

Tennessee Baptist Children’s Homes (TBCH) is a ministry to children and youth who must
live apart from their
biological families, as well as children and youth who are still able to reside in their
own homes with their
parents and siblings. TBCH provides a Christian home and lifestyle to those who must
live outside their own
homes. The family preservation component allows TBCH to minister to the entire family
while allowing the
child to remain in their home.
