We`re Listening. YouAsked

You Asked We’re Listening.
The Wauconda Area Library serves about 27,000 district residents. That’s a lot of people! But did
you know that we have a number of services that we can personalize on an individual level? We have
experts on staff that can help you navigate everyday life.
Readers’ Services & Interlibrary Loan
Yes, we’re a library, and we have books! A lot of them. With the
availability of more books than ever before, it can be difficult to
find that next great read. Have a 5th grader that hates to read,
but you know they need to? We can help! Make an appointment
with our staff who will listen to your needs and
will create a customized list of titles.
If we don’t have a title in our collection that you
want, we can look to order it from another library
through our interlibrary loan system. We place the order and
contact you when it arrives. Pick it up and return to us. We’ll
take care of the rest. It’s like having access to hundreds of library
collections throughout the United States! If an item was published
recently, we will even consider it for purchase.
Technology 101
We also encourage technology literacy! We offer a number of
technology classes in our digital classroom. Half-hour appointments
with staff for personalized help are available upon request. Get
help learning your devices and software, our iMacs, and even the
Printing Center.
Printing Center
Need to copy, scan, or fax? We offer all three
services, and our staff is always available to assist
during library hours. With our new printing center,
send print jobs from home and pick them up at the
library the same day.
Study Rooms
Need a quiet place to study or meet with a small group? Our
study rooms are perfect, and you can reserve one online anytime.
Studio 801
If you haven’t checked it out yet, you need to!
Studio 801 has state of the art equipment for music
and video production, photo editing, and more.
Make an appointment with staff to learn the ropes and start creating!
Digital Classroom
The library added a new digital classroom with 20 iMacs. The
classroom is perfect for outside groups for training and staff
development. Use the classroom to create, learn, or even help
earn scouting badges. Please contact the library to reserve the
classroom with at least 7 days advance notice.
Notary & Voter Registration
The library has notaries and voter registrars
available during library hours. Please call
before you arrive to confirm.
Homebound Services
Homebound delivery service is available to district residents who
are confined temporarily to their residence due to accident or
illness, or permanently due to physical disability or impairment.
The library van will drop off and pick up books, audiobooks and
movies periodically (we do not deliver new DVDs). Please call
Molly at 847-526-6225 ext. 215 for more information.
Citizenship Classes & Social Services
The library is proud to partner with Mano a Mano to provide
additional services. Register for citizenship classes at the library
and get help with test preparation and filling out forms. The
Healthy Families program provides a social worker at the library by
appointment only to assist with filling out forms, applications,
phone calls to agencies, legal referrals and more. Please call
Mano a Mano at (847) 201-1521 to make an appointment.
Program registration will begin on Monday, August 15. Call 847-526-6225 or register online at
