ANNUAL REPORT 2015
MESSAGE
From the Executive Director
Daily Bread has become a very busy, active and
diverse social services agency.
This effort was
affirmed when on November 12, 2015, Florida
Today Newspaper, during their annual VRA Awards
Ceremony, honored Daily Bread as the
Outstanding Organization of the Year for 2015.
Two significant areas of accomplishment have
been in providing the client’s Employment and
housing opportunities. In 2014, only 22% of
clients reported some employment; in 2015 that
number grew to 36%. In our efforts to house the
homeless has also been effective with 69% of all our clients claiming a
status of homeless in 2014 dropping to 54% in 2015. With partnerships
with local businesses and housing agencies we expect this trend to
continue.
What amazes me the most is the strong and continued support of the
large number of volunteers, donors, partner agencies, and Board of
Directors who do the work of insuring Daily Bread fulfills its’ mission of
feeding and being a gateway to necessary services for the poor, hungry
and the homeless. These special helpers ensure every client is served
with dignity and has a greater opportunity to attain self-sufficiency. May
God continue to bless you all!

ANNUAL REPORT 2015
This is the first time
I have been treated
like I am somebody.
Thank you!”
Thanksgiving is about family gatherings around a bountiful meal and
a chance to give thanks for the many blessings God has showered
upon the family. For some, these gatherings seem to be only
memories long past. Daily Bread volunteers & staff offered to be
family for community members who are alone and often societal
outcasts, by treating clients to a sit down Thanksgiving meal which
provided them with a moment of dignity. Clients are surprised and
some brought to tears as they were thankful for, as one clients
stated, "Making us feel like we matter."
Daily Bread is family to so many
in our community especially at
Easter, 4th of July, Thanksgiving
& Christmas.

ANNUAL REPORT 2015
I want you to know
how much Daily
Bread means to me,
you saved my life.”
Where can they turn? At every turn Daily Bread’s clients seem
to be rejected and turned away. Through the help of our many
partners, these societal rejects, people who have hit bottom,
are now being reintegrated into our community with jobs, with
housing, and with their dignity restored.
The usual routine of processing through the chow
line with a tray is replaced by a sit-down meal for
the clients, with real plates and silverware. At
Thanksgiving 117 volunteers, served 230 clients.
