Great teaching deserves to be noticed
Great teaching deserves to be noticed
That’s why two of the leading names in education in Spain have come
together to bring you the NABSS-Pearson Teaching Awards
Launching at the NABSS Conference 2014
The Awards are about three things:
Recognition
Every year we’ll recognise three teachers’ exceptional contributions
to their profession by presenting them with awards, based on
nominations from those whose lives they have touched.
Celebration
The awards are a celebration of teaching at its best, so what
better place to do this than at the annual NABSS Conference,
among peers and colleagues dedicated to bringing quality education
to students across Spain.
Saying “thank you”
Every nomination comes with a special message for the nominee,
telling them what makes them such a great teacher. We’ll share these
throughout the year so everyone can see the difference NABSS
teachers are making to people’s lives.
The perfect partnership
NABSS and Pearson have joined
forces to launch these awards
because we are both committed to
supporting teaching in your school.
Together, we promote the best
standards in education by providing a
foundation for teaching, through our
support, resources and qualifications;
making ours the perfect partnership
to recognise exceptional teaching.

The categories
The awards are about teaching at all stages of a student’s
school life. We’ll be giving them in these categories:
Early Years
and Primary
Secondary
Sixth Form
Nominations
A nomination is about more than putting a teacher forward for an award, it’s also about saying “thank you” and telling
them what makes their teaching so great. And it’s not just students we want to hear from; we welcome nominations
from anyone who wants to show their gratitude to a great teacher, including parents, colleagues and school leaders.
Nominations can be made online at www.nabsspearsonTA.com or by email to nabsspearsonTA@pearson.com
On 31st December each year we’ll total up the nominations made since the same time the previous year and the three
most nominated teachers in each category will go through to the next stage.
Choosing a winner
Once we know our top three nominees in each category, we will ask head-teachers/principals for further supporting
information to help our panel choose three winners. The panel will assess the supporting information against a set of
criteria, as well as looking at nomination messages, to help them make their decisions.
Presenting the Awards
We’ll get in touch with the three teachers chosen by the panel in January, to let them know they’ve won a
NABSS-Pearson Teaching Award and to invite them to attend the ceremony at the NABSS Conference in March. Awards
will be presented at the evening cocktail reception, where we’ll all celebrate the winners’ outstanding contributions to
their profession.
