www.sound-development-city.com Juli 2012 2 Sound Development City: Media Information Sound Development City is a new Sound Development project which enables a close exchange between artists of various backgrounds. In the course of summer expeditions to Berlin, London and Zurich, selected artists from the areas of music, performance and other cultural fields experience and revive urban spaces. The dernier cri is the focus of these expeditions - it allows for an independent exploration of themes and modes of expres sion in the perception of the three cities. The work resulting from this exploration be shown in public on the last evening of each expedition. The interest in Sound Development City 2012 was huge. We have received 199 qualified applications from all over the world. The Jury – Andalus/Dada, Gabriel Bachmann, Eva Hartmann, Martin Heller (Chair), Joana Seguro and Erika Stucky – had the task task of choosing the 10 participants for this year’s Summer Expeditions. Some of the main criteria were the artistic background and the content and profile of the ideas on the focus »The latest Craze<<. »All the Rage: the >dernier cri< – what kind of game can we tease out of this search for the latest hype? And what happens if we understand >the latest Cry< in a literal sense? The >latest< is the ultimate, the end – which will give rise to a new beginning. In the interstice between we look for: new positions and unexpected approaches.<< (Andalus/Dada, Artistic directors) Sound Development City goes on for: 3 x 4 days Agenda and Locations: Berlin: 15.08.-18.08.2012, http://thewye.de/ London: 05.09.-08.09.2012, http://thewhitebuilding.org.uk/ Zurich: 26.09.-29.09.2012, Secret Place For more information: http://sound-development-city.com/en/ We feel the restlessness.
