What are the necessary documents need for admission to the Korean Language Education Center of Wonkwang University?
A
Application form, a self introduction, prior school graduation certificate 1 copy (Korean translation attached), education query results,
confirmation of translator (Korea Immigration Office Forms), a copy of ID card, a copy of your passport, the original copy of your Hogubu
(family registry) containing family information (submitted by only students with Chinese nationality), documents proving financial status (bank
balance certificates showing at least $5,000USD or more), a copy of employment certificate for your father or mother (Korean translation
attached), photo 4 sheets: (color photos taken for a passport within recent 3 months 3.5 × 4.5), wiring 2,400,000KRW for the second semester’s
tuition and 50,000KRW for the enrollment fee

When do I have to prepare the documents to enter the Korean Language Education Center of Wonkwang University?
A
You must submit the application at least 1 month before the start of the semester if you living outside of Korea. However, you can submit the
application at least 1 week in advance if you are living in Korea.

How can I get to the school from airport since I am unable to speak Korean?
A
Trains and buses are available from airports to Iksan where Wonkwang University is located. We can keep you informed of the way by phone
if you contact the school before leaving. A Wonkwang University school bus can be provided for a group with more than 30 persons coming

Can I live in a dormitory of Wonkwang University?
A
Yes you can. Dormitories are equipped with good restaurants and exercise facilities. However, you are not allowed to cook in the dorm.

Yes you can. If you want to seek accommodations outside of the school, please contact the school in advance. We can help you with finding
rooms and making contracts.

Can I study in addition to the class hours?
A
Only study rooms for international students are available. The latest computers and televisions, etc. are prepared in the study rooms for
international students so the students can study or take a rest and have a discussion. Of course, you can also utilize Wonkwang University’s
Library.

Do I have opportunities to make friends with Korean students or students from other countries?
A
There are several gatherings to meet Korean students. You can share a hobby or travel with Korean students, or students from other countries,
or get help in studying the Korean language.

Can I find assistance in Chinese at the office?
A
Teachers fluent in Chinese can help you any time at the International Affair Office of Wonkwang University. There are also many teachers who
can speak Chinese at the Korean Language Education Center.

Can I bypass the regular pathway of the courses if I study hard?
A
Yes, you can. You can take a higher-level course when you take supplementary lessons upon request and pass all the proper exams.

What do I have to do in order to take the TOPIK exam?
A
Q You can submit the application to the International Affair Office of Wonkwang University and take free special classes at the Korean
Language Education Center or take the exam directly at Wonkwang University. You don’t have to go out to Seoul or other larger cities to take
the TOPIK Exam.
