From the Director
As the Director of Choral Activities at Lincoln High School
and Clark Middle School, let me welcome you to one of this
school’s great ensembles. The choirs at Lincoln High School and
Clark Middle School have a tradition of excellence and pride. The
foremost goal of the Choirs is to provide each student with the
finest musical experience possible. I believe that in each student
there lies unlimited potential to achieve both individual and group
goals. It is the realization of these goals through positive
motivation that will insure the success of vocal music at Lincoln
High School and Clark Middle School.
Membership in a choral ensemble allows students to develop a
love for music that will offer an opportunity to enrich your own
musicianship as well as providing for social and personal growth
based on teamwork and professionalism. The choirs are well
known for their musicianship and for their contribution to the
community through music. This is in part due to the hard work
and enthusiasm of many talented and energetic students. It is
through this commitment and cooperation that we will continue
our tradition of choral excellence.
The coming year will prove to be an exciting one as the music
program takes on new challenges. I strongly encourage all parents
to become involved in the Choir Boosters organization. Your
active participation indicates to the choir members that you are
supporting their efforts to achieve their goals and ambitions.

LHS Spring Musical
On April 26-28, 2013, Lincoln High School will present The
Sound of Music. The final collaboration between Rodgers &
Hammerstein was destined to become the world's most beloved
musical. When a postulant proves too high-spirited for the religious life, she is
dispatched to serve as governess for the seven children of a widowed naval Captain. Her growing
rapport with the youngsters, coupled with her generosity of spirit, gradually captures the heart of the stern
Captain, and they marry. Upon returning from their honeymoon they discover that Austria has been
invaded by the Nazis, who demand the Captain's immediate service in their navy. The family's narrow
escape over the mountains to Switzerland on the eve of World War II provides one of the most thrilling and
inspirational finales ever presented in the theatre. The motion picture version remains the most popular
movie musical of all time.
Auditions for principal roles will be Thursday, February 21, 2013. Audition information and materials will
be posted on the choir web site and on My Big Campus by January 3rd. Chorus audition information will be
posted there too. Check the choir web site and My Big Campus. Von Trapp children’s audition
information will be posted on the Choir web site by January 3rd.
Tech Volunteers Needed! We need parents, alumni, and friends help put this production on. We will have
a tech meeting on Monday, February 11, 2013 at 7:00 PM in the LHS Choir Room. We’ll be presenting the
set designs and other information about the upcoming production. We need lots of help and volunteers to
head up committees and be part of groups to work on the stage part of this production. We need help with
props, sets, sound, lighting, costumes, and publicity. Please contact Snyder as soon as possible if you are
interested in getting this production started!

The LHS Choir web site has been
up and running for several years
now. It contains a lot of
information about the choirs and
ongoing activities. Mr. Snyder
keeps it updated as much as
possible.
Some of the things you’ll find on
the web site are:
A very up-to-date calendar of
events that includes future
choir events and dates .
A copy of the choir’s Parent
Handbook that will answer a lot
of questions parents might have

Mr. Snyder when we realized
that much information was not
