An Amazing Opportunity
YOU can ensure someone with a terminal illness receives the helping
hands of a Jesuit Volunteer. We need to raise $15,000 by August 1.
James and Karen Almon
Jesuit Volunteer Corps Northwest has offered a full time coordinator for
the Transitions program. JVs are highly qualified college graduates who
serve in a community for one year. Adding a JV to our team at this time
will provide service to our 85 Transition clients. The stipend cost to us is
$15,000 for the year. This is an amazing opportunity to have a quality
full-time person at such a low cost.
Norris and Alice Faringer
Caregivers that are stretched will be given a reprieve, isolated clients will
receive companionship, errands will be run, transportation provided, and
community resources tapped into (Meals on Wheels, Dial a Ride, COPES
caregiving etc.) through the Jesuit Volunteer. Won’t
you help by sending a donation today in the
enclosed envelope? The Jesuit Volunteer is on
her way to start helping your friends and

neighbors in just four weeks!

The Healing SOUNDS of Water
The following is a letter from a grateful family member:
“I never thought our family would need Cottage in the Meadow. We all
wished that our loved one would pass in her sleep. That did not happen; and
after an event that proved to be irreparable, our family made the decision to
use hospice and transfer her from the hospital to Cottage.
The entire experience was beautiful for our loved one and family. The dignity,
compassion and comfort offered will always be remembered. As a family we
were able to stay and open the door to the sound of water and the smell of
spring flowers. We took turns at the bedside stroking her hair and massaging
her body to comfort her.

We compared this experience to the deaths of two other grandparents. It was
not comparable; the other events did not allow for the peaceful next step in
life’s journey, tender loving moments of closure.
The staff and volunteers need to be commended for the work they do each
and every day.”
