Dr. Timothy Lee, M.B.A., M.D., is a board certified pediatrician. He will begin seeing pediatric patients at the West Side Urgent Care Center on Oct. 26. Parents are encouraged to schedule their child/children to see Dr. Lee on an appointment basis if possible (Call: 661765-1935 for appointments). He will see walk-in pediatric patients based on clinical priority. In addition to his pediatric practice Dr. Lee, as medical director, will oversee the patient care services of the Urgent Care and participate in the operational and strategic directions of the health and wellness mission of the West Side Health Care District. Dr. Lee received his bachelor of arts degree from Stanford University and his medical degree from Cornell University. He has been a practicing pediatrician for the past eight years. Dr. Lee recently received his master of business administration from the University of Massachusetts-Amherst. Dr. Lee said his passion is to improve health care and he looks forward to “making a difference in people’s health with a combination of medical and administrative expertise.” He is of Cantonese ancestry and was born in Vietnam. He came to the United States at a very young age and spent almost all of his childhood in Los Angeles. Dr. Lee is married to April and they have two young children, Rylan and Ava. Property taxes due on Nov. 1 Kern County Treasurer and Tax Collector, Jordan Kaufman, announced the recent mailing of approximately 393,000 real property tax bills totaling more than $1.09 billion for the fiscal year 20152016. These bills represent taxes levied by Kern County, schools, and other taxing agencies within Kern County and provide revenue for their operating funds. The first and second installments are due on November 1, 2015 and February 1, 2016 and become delinquent if not paid by December 10, 2015 and April 10, 2016, respectively. The Kern County Sheriff’s Rural Crimes Investigations Unit arrested Gary Lumpkins Jr. ,44, on Oct. 8 after a three-week investigation that started when Aera reported he had embezzled property. “During the three week long investigation detectives determined Lumpkins had made numerous purchases of equipment and supplies on Aera accounts,” a Sheriff’s news release said. “A search warrant was served at Lumpkins residence and numerous items of stolen property were located during the search. Detectives also searched two storage units and a shop where additional Aera property was located. The total value of the recovered items of stolen property exceeded $60,000. A firearm was also seized from Lumpkins home.” Lumpkins was charged with embezzlement and possession of a firearm by a felon.
