Last Week – March 21 – “Money Talks”
We met at Wahib’s! Yeah! And Ziad mentioned 100 days
to go. Team America was the team in charge with Chuck
Reyes as leader. This week’s program was not the first
time that a guest speaker came to talk to the club about
investment strategies. It was, however, one of the best
delivered programs that the club has had in a long time.
Our guest was Jerry Slusiewicz, host of the “Money Talks”
radio show. Using a powerful series of examples, Jerry
explained that nothing is more important in controlling our
you risk. Jerry gave example after example supporting
his core principle that the best way to succeed with your
investment strategy is to insure that you have controlled
the loss side on your positions with a “stop loss” order.
Mary Glenn announced the need for at least 25 Rotarians
to help with Easter basket distribution on Good Friday,
April 14th, 3pm. Contact John Eimans or Mary Glenn to
volunteer in this community project.
The District 5300 Friendship Dinner on April 21st was
announced by Frances Moore. Our club is hosting; we
need door prizes donated for the dinner. Dinner seating
is limited. Your reservation is good as soon as you
register & make payment. Please do so now.
Also announced was the club hike on Saturday, March
25th; District Peace Conference, Fuller Seminary is on
Saturday, April 8th; District Training Assembly, Saturday,
April 22nd; the annual Heart Walk for children is Saturday,
May 6th; District Conference in Palm Springs, May 19-21.
DGE Chris’ Governor Installation Ceremony will be held at
Conference, Sunday morning, May 21!
Art Narvaez happily announced the Group-level 4-Way
Speech contest was held last week and our club winner
took Group-level. He is advancing to the Regional level in
April. Congratulations young man!
Gary, Steve, and Mark brought back a good gift this time
from Washington D.C. Denis K. was in Arkansas and
returned with a Razorback head piece for President Ziad.

CHRIS MONTAN’S DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
EVENTS
THE COPILOT
I am the copilot. I sit on the right. It's up to me to
be quick and bright; I never talk back for I have
regrets, But I have to remember what the Captain
forgets.
DISTRICT 5300 FRIENDSHIP DINNER
DATE:
APRIL 21, 2006
LOCATION:
BRASSERIE ASTUCE, POMONA
Time:
TBA
I make out the Flight Plan and study the weather,
Pull up the gear, stand by to feather; Make out
the mail forms and do the reporting, And fly the
old crate while the Captain is courting.
Sponsored by our club for our new District Governor.
I take the readings, adjust the power, Put on the
heaters when we're in a shower; Tell him where
we are on the darkest night, And do all the
bookwork without any light.
DISTRICT ASSEMBLY
DATE:
APRIL 22, 2006
LOCATION:
ETIWANDA GARDENS
Time:
TBA
Mark your calendar! Be there to show what kind of club
I call for my Captain and buy him cokes; I always
laugh at his corny jokes, And once in awhile when
his landings are rusty I always come through with,
"By gosh it's gusty!"
generates people of the caliber of our Governor Elect.
All in all I'm a general stooge, As I sit on the right
of the man I call "Scrooge"; I guess you think that
is past understanding, But maybe some day he will
give me a landing.

This Week’s Program – March 28, 2006
Jay Cohen has been the Bugler at Santa Anita, Hollywood, and Fairplex Parks since 1987.
Since starting at Santa Anita, he has traveled to 12 tracks in 8 states and Tokyo, Japan as a
guest artist.
The former Bank director from NJ has appeared on over 30 TV shows and several movies,
most notably Seabiscuit as the bugler and has played the "Call to Post" over 70,000 times.
Join this fascinating guest for a look behind the scenes at how the racetrack delivers the
pageantry that we take for granted when we visit.
