Comedian Steven Wright Entertains at Sembler Reception O n October 26, during the Southeast ICSC Convention in Atlanta, Sembler hosted an evening of spirits, good cheer, and the comedy of Steven Wright. The reception, held at King Plow Arts Center, featured delectable specialty catering by Bold American Food Company, a performance and appearance by 20 squad members of the Atlanta Falcons cheerleaders, and the dry, off-kilter wit of comedian Steven Wright. Wright has been featured on nearly every late night talk show in addition to films including Ghost, The Muse, Half-Baked, Canadian Bacon, Mixed Nuts, Natural Born Killers, So I Married an Axe Murderer, Reservoir Dogs, and Desperately Seeking Susan, among others. Famous for his deadpan humor, dry-as-toast delivery, and cerebral one-liners, Wright’s performance at the Sembler event was no exception. A select audience of very special guests enjoyed an exclusive one-hour plus performance in the intimate setting of King Plow Arts Center. Help-U-Sell Kumon Math & Reading Center WELCOME ABOARD Southern Trace Plaza The Villages, FL Village Crafts St. Cloud Square St. Cloud, FL The Sembler Company is pleased to announce the following professionals have joined our staff: Frank’s Seafood Workforce Central Florida Who’s Who on the Project J ust a hop, skip, and a jump from downtown Winter Garden, and just 5 miles from Walt Disney World…a proposed shopping development is underway which is expected to influence growth in the one-zip code town. Weighing in at a 1.4 million square feet and an estimated 100 stores, the proposed development of Winter Garden Village at Fowler Groves will fill a growing consumer demand in the hot growth area of west Orange County. The site is located where SR 429, the new western beltway still under construction, intersects the existing CR 535. Tailor-made for the community of Winter Garden, The Sembler Company is committed to developing a quality shopping and leisure destination with a perfect retail and architectural fit. Sembler has worked closely with neighboring communities and the City of Winter Garden to develop a quality and themed retail commercial center consisting of regional, village lifestyle, and neighborhood components designed to evolve over time into a retail mixed-use activity center. According to President and CEO Craig Sher, community input is as valuable as Sembler’s extensive development expertise to ensure the project not only succeeds as a retail center, but also as an integral part of the community identity. A young family demographic with a median age of 35.2 years and an average household income of $83,142 offers a highly desirable target market for retailers. Growth projections in the area are based on completion of SR 429, the new thoroughfare that is expected to connect to I-4 by 2006. Inevitably, this road network will simplify travel and add a much needed convenience factor for residents who now must commute to Clermont or Orlando to shop. Plans for the center effectively call for the best of both retail worlds: a desirable main street village lifestyle component with a home improvement store, club warehouse, furniture, soft goods and discount retailers on the peripheral. The downtown lifestyle main street effect will center around a movie theater, restaurants, specialty retail and a themed plaza with wide sidewalks, streetscape amenities, and on-street parking in an open-air, pedestrian-friendly style. The project is expected to break ground Fall 2005 and is slated to open Fall 2006.
