Would you like to work at a job you really enjoy? If you answered “yes” to any of these questions, then our Floral Design Certificate may be the one for you! Our courses give you the competitive edge needed to find your niche in this growing field. The program provides a well-rounded base for personal satisfaction or a new career. In as little as four to six months, you can gain the selfassurance to confidently move into the world of floral design! Core Courses Beginning Wedding Flowers This certificate program requires that each student complete three (3) of our Floral design courses and one (1) elective from the Life Skills section. A variety of courses are offered in each catalog and new courses may be offered at any time. Refer to certificate #CERT99S03. Aren’t weddings beautiful? Floral arrangements have a lot to do with the beauty of that special day. Learn how to construct fresh flower bridal bouquets, corsages, boutonnieres, altar bouquets and pew bows. Dried and silk flower arrangements will be discussed. Sample courses include: Fundamentals of flower arranging Centerpieces and More Christmas Floral Workshop (seasonal) Silk and Dried Flowers SIlk and dried Wreaths and swags Corsage, Boutonnière & Bow Making A love of flowers, an eye for design, and a desire to create things of beauty — you’ll be dazzling friends and family with your arranging skills. You may even decide to make a career move. You’ll complete a new fresh flower arrangement at each session. Intermediate flower arranging This course covers the latest trends in design and design principles such as line, depth, color, and elements of fresh floral construction. PREREQUISITES: Fundamentals of Flower Arranging Fees and Enrollment Certificate Requirements The one-time Certificate Program Fee of $35.00 is due upon registration. Learner must pay individual course fees or additional fees listed during website registration. Learners must attend a minimum of 75% of class sessions for each individual class. Learners will receive Continuing Education Unit certificates after the successful completion of each class. Final certificate will be awarded to learners in good standing only after completion of all classes. Refer to course numbers listed in the catalog.
