WORK OF ART IN DOWNTOWN GIDDINGS
If you have traveled through Downtown Giddings lately, you have seen a new mural
developing on the outside of Flower’s by Laverne. Johnny Jones of Lexington has
brought another wall from boring to beautiful. Our community is so fortunate to have
businesses willing to invest in the beautification of downtown. Travelers that pass
through our community daily are intrigued by the improvements and look forward to the
next mural. Where will Johnny show up next???
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Inspiration for today - “The Greek have a word, Meraki (may-rah-kee), which means doing
something with soul, creativity or love. It's when you put all of yourself into what you're doing.”
Participants will have their Vehicle’s Identification Number
acid etched onto the windows of their vehicle. This is an
excellent theft deterrent to criminals, and may even get
you an additional discount on your auto insurance. The
only way to remove the VIN from the glass is to grind over
it, which leaves permanent and obvious marks, or replace
all the glass in the vehicle. A thief takes one look at this
and keeps right on walking.
This will be provided as a free service from the Sheriff’s
Combined Auto Theft Task Force. We will be accepting
donations of the travel size hygiene products to donate to
the Ronald McDonald House for families with seriously ill
children.
In case of inclement weather, the event will be
rescheduled.
