An Invita on from the Office of the Lay Pastoral Ministry Ins tute
Pray & Reflect: 19th Sunday of Ordinary Time, August 7th - Is God Calling You to Serve as a Lay Ecclesial
Minister in His Church? “For where your treasure is, there also will your heart be.” Our lives, me, energy, talents,
and treasure, are the only things we have to invest in our faith. Effec ve lay ministers/volunteers need more than a
heart for ministry; they also need personal and spiritual maturity, knowledge of theology and other disciplines and
pastoral skills. Lay ministers need and deserve a forma on program with high standards, effec ve methods and
comprehensive goals. This is what we, here in the Diocese, work hard to offer to you. Ask yourself: What
“possessions” (materially and intellectually) would be most difficult for me to abandon, to pursue the things of
Christ? Why? The Lay Pastoral Ministry Ins tute is different from ordinary “adult educa on” because you are part of a forma on
program. The purpose of LPMI Year of Discernment is to provide par cipants with a theological overview of the
Church and Christ’s ministry. Monthly classes begin on September 10, 2016 and conclude in April 2017. Interested
adults can find brochures and more details on the LPMI web site at h p://dosp.org/lpmi/. Or, you may contact our
office at the Pastoral Center by phone (727) 344-1611 or email: LPMISEPI@DOSP.ORG
The Title I Private School Program is looking for part me hourly teachers to
work with small Reading/Math groups in our Private Schools. Elementary
posi ons range from 16 -25 hours a week. Middle School posi ons are 3
hours a week a er school. Applicants need to hold a valid Florida Teaching
Cer ficate. If you are interested please contact Lateka Chance at the Title I Office (893-2988
ext. 2031) for more informa on or send your resume to chancel@pcsb.org.
