Our hub benefits from an enviable position within
the emerging new distribution and logistics ‘golden
triangle’ in Northamptonshire. We are in a unique
central and strategic location at the centre of
national infrastructure, roads and train links.
OPERATIONAL
EXCELLENCE
The centre of the network is our control
facility, the hub – an established,
dynamic and secure site where all our
member partners exchange freight
each night.
The Fortec hub aims to achieve operational excellence throughout
the principles of a Quality Improved Process (QIP), which sets targets
on essential elements such as our scanning frequency, pallets moved
per hour and claims. Our QIP ensures we maintain excellent overall
standards.
Vehicles entering and leaving the hub each night work on a core
regular schedule with pre-planned vehicle movements. Our highly
skilled planning team work with the network daily to support a safe
and efficient operation.
All pallets are tracked in and out of the hub using real time scanning
which is CCTV monitored. This results in an environment where
immediate corrective action is taken so potential mistakes are
minimised. This ensures our high service levels are on track before
vehicles even depart.
