Assalaamu Alaikum (Peace be on You) Dear Supporter,
TMWF News
As the year 2014 winds down, on behalf of our Board, Staff and clients, I
would like to extend a since THANK YOU for standing with us throughout the
year. I want to urge you to continue your support. Recently, one of our
intern consultants described her experience while working at the Peaceful
Oasis Shelter:
At TMWF we strive to make life better for everyone involved in the
organization: first and foremost for the clients who need our services,
whether at Peaceful Oasis shelter, the transitional housing, or the outreach
main office. But we also respect our staff, welcome their input and insight into
the work and incorporate their recommendations in the organization.
Everyone takes ownership of the agency, and this makes TMWF very unique
both in its structure as well as in its mission.
We are blessed with a very dedicated Board of Directors that meticulously
oversees the running of the organization, and passionately advocates on our
behalf.
Brothers and sisters, the organization provides such an extensive list
of comprehensive and intensive services that your committed support
is critical for our existence. In December, as many of you review your
contributions and donate to your favorite charities, we sincerely hope that the
great programs of TMWF will be one of your designated beneficiaries for your
yearend contribution. To make your gift, please click here.
We look forward to your company at our 10th Annual Fundraising Dinner
on Saturday, January 24, 2015 at the Dallas Palms, Carrollton. Warm wishes,

Social Services
TMWF recently hosted an eyeopening community focusing on advance
planning, record keeping and organization in the event of serious illness or
death. The workshop was called "On The Road: Advance Planning", and
was held at the Haggard Library in West Plano.
The facilitator, Ms. Amy Praskac guided the attendees through a workbook
developed by her, called "The Critical Information Workbook". She
emphasized on the need of keeping meticulous records of important personal
data, which in the event of one's end of life illness or death, makes it easy for
survivors to find their way through mountain loads of paperwork and get
estate matters sorted out. Her book is the result of her own experiences when
she had to settle the estate upon her husband's death. This approach to life planning is critical as managing serious illness or death
of a loved one can be overwhelming. Listen to our interview with Camille Miller, CEO of Texas Health Institute
to learn more about resources available for families serving as caregivers for
loved ones with serious illness.
Thank you,
Sabiha Shariff
Board Chair of Social Services
