THE 2016 NEDA NATIONAL DEBATE CHAMPIONSHIP Fullerton College, site of the 2016 National Educational Debate Association National Championship Dear NEDA colleagues, On behalf of the National Educational Debate Association (NEDA). Fullerton College and California State University, Fullerton invite you to the 2016 NEDA National Championship Debate Tournament, to be held on the Fullerton College campus March 11 & 12, 2016. The National Educational Debate Association topic for this year’s Championship is Resolved: The United States federal government should significantly raise the minimum wage. We at Fullerton College and CSU Fullerton are honored to host this first NEDA Championship Tournament West of the Rockies. REGISTRATION Registration and judges-sign-in will be in Applied Arts/Humanities Bldg. Room 521 (Friday, 1:30-3:30pm). ENTRIES 1. Email entries to Michael Bauer (Ball State) mbauer2@bsu.edu 2. Entry fees $70 per debate team. $60 judges fee per uncovered team. Each judge covers two teams. 3. Entries are due by 11:00pm, March 6. 4. Make checks out to ERIKA THOMAS (CSUF). DIVISIONS AND AWARDS 1. We are offering Open and Novice divisions of POLICY and PUBLIC FORUM debate. 2. Depending on the number of teams, Open and Novice teams might face each other in rounds; teams will be separated by division for awards and final rounds 3. There will be final rounds in all divisions as warranted 4. Team awards will be given to the top 5 teams in each division. Speaker awards will be given to the top 5 individual debaters in each division. Sweepstakes awards will be given to the top 5 schools. 3 PARKING We will supply free parking passes during registration. They will be good for Friday and Saturday.
