Greetings from your Governor
Greetings From Your Governor
Well it’s that time of year. Cool weather, football and the Pat Ramsey Benefit for Big Bend
Hospice was held on Saturday, October 3rd, at the Bradfordville Blues Club. If you've never
been, you don't know what you are missing. Our own Debbi Ramsey works hard and does
a great job putting this event on every year.
Also, we had a great time on Labor Day. Good pizza and garlic knots by Deeders and of
course Barb doing what she always does (whatever needs doing).
We had a lot going on in September. The big oak trees in front are trimmed so you can
easily see the Lodge now. A new Moose and sign should be going up any day now on the
gable end of the roof in front. Sid has restriped the parking lot. Murphy will be doing some
clean up around the building to include pulling up weeds and putting down new mulch.
We are planning some work on the Fire Pit out back to allow us to enjoy the nice cool
evenings. We are also looking into some much needed work in the men's restroom.
Thanks to all our volunteer members who continue to get involved and a big thanks to the
real heroes, Our Bingo Volunteers, who give of their time and talents week after week.
We have made good progress with our membership drive but we need to continue to bring
in our friends, neighbors, and coworkers and get them signed up. And don't forget, any
member who signs up 5 new Loom Members will get their next year's dues paid for by the
Lodge.
Thank you,
Carl Crayton

Greetings From Your Administrator,
Well, if you missed the WOTM Todd Allen Herendeen Dinner Show you really
missed a treat. First of all the meal was simply delicious. Then the show was
one of the best I have ever seen. A big high five and thank you goes out to
Vernell, Pat, Rita and all the other College of Regents who participated in putting
on such a fine event. This is the 2nd Dinner Show they organized and hopefully
next year will be the third. You all get an A+.
Do not forget our Football Parties every Saturday. So plan on coming out and
joining us, bring your favorite dish to share and cheer on your favorite Team.
We will also have door prizes and drink specials.

Hello from the Moose Riders,
First, the Moose Riders along with the Lodge made monetary donations to Big Bend Hospice at their 7th
annual benefit concert. The event was held at the Bradfordville Blues Club on Saturday October 3rd. It
was truly a great time with all day music on stages inside and out. See donation pictures in newsletter.
On Oct 30th we are again hosting the Halloween party. The night will start with a spaghetti dinner.
There will be raffle and a 50/50 drawing along with prizes for best costumes 1 st, 2nd and 3rd place. Sorry,
but last year’s winners will have to be in different costumes this year if competing.
Coming up…. On November 11th the officer’s election for the Moose Riders will be held. Casey, Barb and
DJ two year term have ended. We are asking all Moose Riders to please come out and participate in this
important election.
Our next meeting is October 14th. We would love to see more members come out and help put together
our Halloween Party. It is a lot of fun!!!

QUALIFIED GUESTS
Just a reminder about being a “Qualified Guest”
with delinquent dues – you cannot be one. If you
have expired dues you cannot enter a Moose
Lodge. In order to be allowed to enter the Lodge
again, you must pay your dues, wait six months, be
terminated, and join again or be a “Qualified
Guest”.
From the Senior Regent
The 2015 Florida-Bermuda Moose Association’s annual conference in Orlando
was this Senior Regent’s first ever state meeting, and what a fabulous
experience! The Rosen Plaza hotel was PACKED with friendly, loving Moose
fraternity members; the meeting sessions were exciting and informative; and –
best of all – it was easy to feel a deep sense of pride in our TALLAHASSEE
MOOSE LODGE. The Members from our lodge that were conferred with honors
were Dawn Mackland, Florida Deputy Grand Regent; Sue Zuniga, Green Cap
Degree; and Bobby Woodward, Moose Fellowship Degree. They each represented
our lodge well, and it was an honor to be associated with these dedicated Moose
members. CONGRATULATIONS DAWN, SUE AND BOBBY!
The Higher Degree Committee hosted a lovely dinner and entertainment show by
Todd Allen Herendeen last month. Congratulations to Chairman Vernell Strumski
and the College of Regents on an entertaining evening at the Lodge! This month,
the Mooseheart and Moosehaven Committee will be hosting the CANDY CANE
BALL to support the “Christmas in October” program for our children and seniors
at Mooseheart and Moosehaven. In addition to dinner and dance, this event will
also feature a silent auction. Committee members will be gathering on Thursday,
October 1 at 6:30 to plan this function – please come and participate!
The WOTM will be giving away a 55” BIG SCREEN TV this month! Stop by the
Lodge and find out how you can WIN! As well, we are planning a special event on
VETERAN’S DAY to celebrate the Moose members that served our country. VETS
EAT FREE – pre-registration is required so stop in and ask for a registration form.
There are lots of things to do, and great opportunities to get involved in the
Women of the Moose. If you want to help support the needy children at
Mooseheart, our seniors at Moosehaven, and bring JOY, FULLFILLMENT and
PERSONAL SATISFACTION into your own life, come join in these activities and
get active with the WOTM. We are making plans for future dinners, a “crafting”
event, some fun parties and BIG PRIZE GIVE-AWAYS, and would love to have
enthusiastic, friendly women that want to fellowship with like-minded women. Join
in the fun!

Why do I have to show my Membership Card?
There have been some issues lately when you are asked to see your membership card.
Here are the reasons why:
First of all, you should be proud to show that card, be proud of yourself as being a member
of this establishment.
The Moose International By-Laws requires that you show your membership card when you
enter the Social Quarters. We as the bartenders, servers, etc should not have to ask. It’s
your responsibility.
We understand that a valid card will enable you to enter through any of the doors, as where
an expired card will not. But what we don’t know is, if you walked in as someone else was
holding the door. We have heard all the excuses: “I left it at home” or “It’s in my car” etc.
If you get into your car, don’t you have your driver’s license? Well, in a way, your
membership card is your “license” to purchase at the Moose Lodge.
So, stop getting upset with me and my bartenders for doing our jobs.
Thank you
Donna Gandy
