WOMEN OF THE MOOSE
The Southern California Girls Ritual Team would like to thank
everyone who came out to play Texas Hold 'em and help support
our team in getting to Nashville. The Southern California Girls
(Karen, Marianne, Edith and Bridget), won 1st place at the
International Ritual Competition. The team was very proud to
represent and bring the 1st place award back to California, Our
Districts, Lodges and Chapters. Thank you to Garden Grove and
El Monte LOOM for allowing us to use the hall, for what seemed
like endless practices. We couldn't have achieved anything
without your support! Fraternally Yours, The Southern
California Girls

AUGUST 2015
ANNIVERSARIES
Greetings Lodge Members,
I hope everyone is staying cool. We are back from Nashville. It was
very informative and enjoyable. On our trip I was feeling bad for
the first day and a half, but came out of it and was able to attend
meetings and Honkie Tonks! Congrats to Shim for taking 2nd place
for our website. Great job as usual Shim! Also a big congrats to
Stephanie for getting her College of Regents. And last but certainly
not least, to Bridget (my better half) for her ritual team receiving
1st place for the International Ritual Companion. A lot of hard work
goes into this. Congratulations to the entire team, Marianne, Karen
and Edith. Great Convention, great country music, great food! But
always glad to get home! If you ever get a chance to stay at
Opryland, you should do it, but plan on getting lost! Check calendar
for all events this month. We always need volunteers to help fill
calendar dates. Thanks to all for your support. Over and Out,
Administrator Robinson PS Please have your current membership
card with you at all times and show it to the bartender when you
enter. A few lodges have been closed due to serving non-members.
Also, make sure you follow the rules regarding guest. Two visits
only (third time, they must join, except for a spouse), you must
sign them in and when you leave, your guest must also leave. A
guest cannot make any purchases of any kind. Please remember
these rules and keep our lodge in compliance. Thank you!

ACADEMY OF FRIENDSHIP
Hello,
We made it back from Nashville without melting. There are a few new
changes from International. One of them is the new Moose Rewards
Program. Earn points for helping the Moose grow and prosper, then
redeem your points for valuable awards, gifts and experiences. You can
find more information from www.mooseintl.org. I hope you all had a
great time at the 4th of July BBQ. Thank you to the great crew that
stood in for me and helped everyone have a good time. Lots of great
things to look forward to this month. Friday night dinners and Sunday
morning breakfasts as usual. Check out the Murder Mystery Theatre
during dinner on the 14th and come in for the Bloody Mary Bar and
breakfast on the 16th. Did you know that there is a Moose Navigator
App for Android-based cell phones? Download the app and get turnby-turn driving directions to over 1, 500 Moose Lodges. It costs
$13.95 but 20% of the proceeds go to Moose Programs.
See you at the lodge!

Hi Everyone!!!
____________________________
Hope everyone is enjoying the summer! I’ve heard a lot of people are
taking some great vacations. I look forward to hearing more about them
and seeing pictures.
I would like to take a moment to apologize for the calendar not having
as many functions as usual. We have had a drop in participation with
people who are interested in holding functions for the WOTM. If you
would like to cook a dinner or a breakfast, please contact me or another
WOTM officer. We truly appreciate all the help we can get and would
really like to continue to have fun and exciting events that people can
attend. A special thank you to everyone who helps out around our
lodge. You’re an important part of our Lodge and Chapter and are
greatly appreciated.
Also, I still have two chairs available. If you would like to get more
involved in the WOTM, this is a great way to do it. My goal is to get all
chairs filled by the end of the year. Please see me if you are interested.

“Sour Grapes of Wrath”
Murder Mystery Dinner Theatre
Friday, August 14th 6-9pm
Join us for a WOTM Mexican Street Taco dinner by
Saul & Lorena then stay for the SUSPENSE!
The scenario…
One year ago, Robert Killingsworth bought the farm. Six
months later, he was dead-leaving his widow, Elizabeth, to
tend to their fledgling winery and vineyard on the outskirts of
California’s wine country. With mounting debts and no clue as
to how to run a business, Elizabeth is desperate to sell the
farm and recoup her losses. The fierce drought and shaky
economy, however, have left the Killingsworth Farm on the
market for far too long. One early autumn day, six people
passed through the gates of Killingsworth Farm to see
Elizabeth-one of them, a cold-blooded killer… Enjoy our show
and try to figure out who the killer is. Prizes for the winner(s)!

MOOSE INTERNATIONAL MEMBERSHIP CAMPAIGN
2015 – 2016
WOTM Craft Fair & LOOM BBQ
Saturday, October 10th, 2015 10:00am-3:00pm
Membership campaigns are created and implemented by the
Membership Department at Moose International. Annual
Membership Campaigns typically run from May 1 to April 30 and
have a unique theme each year. This year’s Annual Membership
Campaign is Moose – Build Our Foundation. which runs from May
1, 2015 to April 30, 2016. In 2014-2015, our Lodges, Chapters, and
Moose Legions struggled to maintain their membership levels. In
order to grow our foundation of members to support our key
endeavors, we need to refocus our efforts in production and
retention. This year’s one member award, a ‘Moose – Build Our
Foundation’ lapel pin, should be awarded by each Lodge or
Chapter after a member sponsors his/her first candidate during the
campaign year. Members attaining membership in the Moose
International 5 Club will receive a ’5 Club’ logo static window decal
and funds generated by these members will help support the
replacement of the Indoor Playground Floor at Mooseheart. This
award is made possible by your State/Provincial Moose
Association and WOTM. Unlike other years, however, the new
campaign is just the start of a new membership value initiative. At
this year’s International Moose Convention in Nashville, a very
important, long-term program will be announced that will
supplement this annual campaign and others for the foreseeable
future. Details of this exciting new program will be available to all
members after the Convention on the Moose International website
and future issues of Moose magazine.

The GG WOTM #1117 & LOOM #620 is holding a Holiday Craft
Fair and BBQ at the Garden Grove Moose Lodge. We invite you to
participate in this event. The Craft Fair offers you the chance to
showcase your handmade crafts along with a select number of
vendors. This year’s event will be open to the public. The cost to
participate in the fair is $20 plus one item donated from your
inventory, for which you receive one table to showcase your items
as well as the full profit for each item sold from your area. If you
would like to participate in this event please complete a registration
form by September 24th. Vendors will be accepted on a firstcome, first-serve basis, with regard to availability and category.
We encourage you to submit your registration and booth fee as
soon as possible. Submission of your registration is not a
guaranteed acceptance. Registration forms can be obtained from
the WOTM bulletin board or Stephanie Estrada. Return your
completed form and fee to Stephanie. Confirmation of acceptance
of your application and fee will be mailed. Bring your confirmation
to the event. All proceeds from The GG WOTM #1117 Holiday
Craft Fair will be used to support Mooseheart/Moosehaven’s
Christmas in October and to purchase Tommy Moose coloring books
and crayons for the dining area. If you would like more information
or have additional questions please email Stephanie at
stephanie.estrada@northwesthotel.org and your email will be
answered as promptly as possible. Thank you.
