LTD INTERNSHIP-WINTER 2010-11 MY AMDAVAD MY STUDIO ABHISHEK BEHERA SPA-DELHI MY HOMELAND DILLI food! not that it was all we thought of, but it was a constant source of fun. apart from pondering over office projects like the sachivalaya and civil package, the amount of enjoyment that came with eating is something i’ll always miss. be it ordering sandwiches in the evening; or post lunch walks to get chhaas, lassi or paan; or the ice cream at natarani; or the general chatter over many shared lunch boxes; food was a component of many small experiences that together made amdavad a cherishable experience. MY AMDAVAD pdpu- gandhinagar MY STUDIO BENGALURU ANJALI HALEMANE UVCE-BANGALORE the 16 weeks...of immense learning, meticulous drawings, site visits, amiable colleagues...of braving the scorching heat for the sake of conversation and a daily butter milk at Natrani...of staring at black screens, reviews, meeting deadlines, office gossip, evening hunger-pangs, nashto party, trainee-sessions... of random moments of homesickness, of craving for some authentic south Indian filter kaapi, of falling in love with the gujarati snacks, of exploring the vibrant land...ahmedabad has been a place of many firsts. an experience that was truly gratifying! MY HOMELAND MY AMDAVAD cgpl- mundra MY STUDIO AMDAVAD CHINTAN PATEL SVIT-VASAD I would like to thank hcp for giving me an opportunity to work in this office during my training tenure. while working in this office, I got exposure to sites and various training sessions, which simultaneously turned my whole perspective towards the projects. at last, I would like to thank all the staff members in project management studio specially amitbhai and chiragbhai for providing me continuous guidance during my training period. MY HOMELAND cpl-ahmedabad cgpl- mundra MY AMDAVAD MY STUDIO HEMANGI PATIL JJ-MUMBAI MY HOMELAND NASHIK both, interning at hcp, and staying in ahmedabad have been awesome experiences. exposure to work, and meeting so many people from all across the country (and beyond) made it all the more fun! though hectic, work was very satisfying, and the weekend trips were thrilling and always something to look forward to. without hcp and the people i met there, ahmedabad would never have been even half as enjoyable. MY AMDAVAD civil hospital- ahmedabad MY STUDIO OREGON KELSEY MOLDENKE MIT-BOSTON though not an ‘authentic’ trainee (as shaikh sir puts it, an ‘honorary’ one); i thoroughly enjoyed my time with the actual trainees. be it over lunch at natarani, or on marathon travel weekends to kachchh, diu or palitana; time spent with the interns was great, and i hope to get a chance to visit their hometowns for a more in-depth experience. amdavad MY HOMELAND MY AMDAVAD applewoods- ahmedabad MY STUDIO GUWAHATI MINU AGARWAL GCA-GUWAHATI simply writing about my experience at hcp fills me with great memories. in a short span of four months, i learnt loads and made so many great friends. contrary to my apprehensions, my studio colleagues made me feel comfortable right from day one, and continue to be so. add to that the trainee sessions, the weekend trips, the city outings; and i can surely say that training at hcpdpm is absolutely memorable... yo hcp!!! gir MY HOMELAND corporate bhopal housinghouse- ahmedabad MY AMDAVAD MY STUDIO GUWAHATI NISHITA KEDIA GCA-GUWAHATI diu MY HOMELAND A gut in my throat is what I had on my first day in hcp, but since then it has been nothing less than a roller coaster ride… each day a new experience…be it running around for prints, working late, staring at the silent river sabarmati, laughing my heart out on‘maulik’s jokes’, learning cad shortcuts from ‘ankit’, irritating the srk fanatic ‘jyotsna’, fooling around with ‘ruchir’, eating “sanjay”…or be it setting out on new explorations every Friday night and snoring early every Monday morning…the entire journey finally summing up with an amalgamation of some serious learning and a few products of creative minds together. MY AMDAVAD aga khan academy- hyderabad MY STUDIO champaner AMDAVAD MY HOMELAND NIVA SHAH SVIT-VASAD observed drastic change between my college & office life…the first day being the most unusual day…inspite of several welcome & farewell parties at the office, I missed my college life. i felt that the system of payment on hourly basis is good, but it tempts everyone for late night working…. irrespective of work being there are not. i missed my college friends but at the same time, i met students from different states. after the experience of 5 months, i now feel like a professional & have almost forgotten my college life…a special thanks to hcp & Project management department for this experience!! MY AMDAVAD amul dairy- mumbai MY STUDIO BENGALURU PRAMOD BHARGAV UVCE-BANGALORE my tenure at hcp was a great blend of varied emotions, with the rendezvous of work and fun setting a good balance. the excitement of exploring the place kept me on my toes, while the friends i made remain the greatest asset. this period marked my initiation into professional life and the responsibilities it would entail. being at hcp was probably the best way to go around doing the same. patan MY HOMELAND MY AMDAVAD shamlaji temple MY STUDIO PRAYASH GIRIA SPA-DELHI palitana MY HOMELAND DILLI sixteen weeks of verbs... ...beating hunger with zulu bars ...counting down days till home ...sighing over the best gujarati thalis ...fretting over wall alignments ...riding in stunt autos ...waiting for the first rain ...learning without getting bored ...gossipping over the plotter ...rushing to time-in in-time ...catching amazing sunrises ...wondering about the circles ...having an unforgettable time ...realizing that words will never do it justice MY AMDAVAD srfd-ahmedabad MY STUDIO ROKSANA KARAKA TEHRAN CSIT-HYDERABAD Ahmedabad has been like Santa’s bag carrying loads of happy memories, so, I can’t pick out a moment since I cherish them all. From the extended lunch hours on the deck and dining hall followed by a definite visit to Natarani to ceaseless language learning endeavours where in Sminu taught me Malayalam and I taught her Farsi, Ahmedabad, especially HCP will always make me reminisce the good times! kachchh MY HOMELAND MY AMDAVAD aga khan academy-hyderabad MY STUDIO KAKRAPAR SANSKRITI TIWARY NIT-RAIPUR training at hcp was a mixed experience with great learning both inside and out of studio. And if simply said, ‘it was not a piece of cake’. oh.. but wait, may be it was. It was more like the cake-thatis-baked-by-me. just like ‘my cake’, my training had soft and sugary parts in the center filled with many surprising currants. But it had another feature, the burnt sides, though a little bitter in taste but nonetheless tasty and in demand. i am thankful to all those people who contributed to my learning and successful training there. sardar sarovar MY HOMELAND MY AMDAVAD applewoods-ahmedabad MY STUDIO SHOMA MATHEW SPA-DELHI modhera MY HOMELAND DILLI rigidity in designing is a trademark at hcp, something i as an individual lack. so i couldn’t fathom the need to align every single wall when the idea of free floorplates had liberated room sizes way back in the sixties. but a fellow cabin mate was kind enough to point out that hcp has a suffix dpm attached to it that represents a whole annexe of the firm dedicated to the succesful completion and delivery of work. i hereby subject myself to hcp discipline in order to imbibe the firm’s seamless efficiency.
