DUBUQUE
The turn of the 20th century was
also a turning point for Wisconsin
– especially for its rural citizens. It
marked the rise of dairy farming
and the advent of modern farm
implements, including tractors,
reapers and threshing machines.
Stonefield, with its museum and
rural village, pays homage to
that time, and includes the grand
summer retreat of Wisconsin’s
first governor, Nelson Dewey.
