id Milan was organised by Zahir Shaikh, president, Hind Social Foundation
in Kondhwa on July 24. More than 950
people attended the grand function held in
the area, where everyone savoured on the
delicious sheerkurma offered to all. Several
political leaders from the city marked their
presence in the programme. Mayor Prashant
Jagtap, Haji Ibrahim Shaikh, chairman, Haj
committee, former MLA Ramesh Bagwe, ,
former Corporator Shiv Sena, Tanaji Lonkar,
Rajendra Babar, Shiv Sena leader, local corporator Nanda Lonkar, Sahil Kedari, President, Youth Congress, Pune Cantonment
Assembly, Narayan Lonkar, Ishaque Pansare
and Sanjay Lonkar were present.
Jagtap, in his address said, “I am glad
with the work carried out by Zahir Shaikh.
As a Mayor, I promise you that during my
tenure, I will establish Haj House. It’s the
need of our Muslim brother. I extend all
help to the foundation.”

LSOM to promote tree plantation
ast Sunday of the Month, July 31, holds
a unique importance. The Pune RoadRunners have taken up the responsibility
to organize the LSOM run at the beautiful
Bopdev Ghat located on the Pune-Saswad
Road, Kondhwa. Pune RoadRunners is a long
distance running group spread across Pune
and Pimpri-Chinchwad and is active since
2012. This is the first ever LSOM run organized at the Bopdev Ghat.
“We have chosen this route to give our
Puneri runners an unforgettable experience
of running on the beautiful Bopdev Ghat,
which is best enjoyed during the rains. We
know that the runners will love this scenic
route,” said Dr. Vivek Billampelly, Race Director of the July LSOM.
“The route is challenging,” said Rohit Roy,
Organizer, Pune RoadRunners. Pune RoadRunners is using the LSOM platform to also
spread awareness about doing plantation and
conserving nature. As a part of the LSOM,
the Pune RoadRunners have planted saplings
on 23 July at the Bopdev hill temple vicinity.
They have been extended generous
support by Mauli Pratishthan and Kalpataru
Ltd. to perform the plantation activity. Mauli
Ramesh Bagwe, former MLA appreciated
the work carried out by Shaikh.
Haji Ibrahim Shaikh, chairman of Haj
committee assured all help required to
those travelling on Haj pilgrimage.
Tanaji Lonkar congratulated him for the
noble work, Rajendra Babar assured his
assistance and support throughout all the
activities undertaken by the Foundation.
All friends and all member of Hind Social
Foundation supported the function.
Pratisthan will be further presenting 500
saplings to the LSOM runners onSunday, July
31 at the venue.
Runners can register either for a 3km,
5km, 10km or 15km at a nominal fee of Rs.
