‘17th WORLD INTERFINISH CONGRESS & EXHIBITION
(with 9th ICASE ) will make joint congress in Busan, Korea.’
The upcoming World Congress, Interfinish
2008, is organized at an interval of 4 years
by IUSF (International Union for Surface
- 1980 Japan
Finishing) as the headquarter and executive
office, in the same pattern as Olympic
- 1984 Israel
Games which are organized by IOC. It was
- 1988 France
originated by the proposal of British
Professor Wernic in 1980 and the 1st
- 1992 Brazil
Congress was held in Kyoto, Japan in the
- 1996 United Kingdom
same year. Since then, the Congress had
- 2000 Germany
been held in Israel, France, Brazil, UK,
Germany, USA, taking turns of 4 years
- 2004 USA
before the upcoming 8th Congress in
-2008 KOREA
Korea. Furthermore, there had been
congresses under the various names of
Euro-Interfinish, Asia-Interfinish, etc, in
the middle of the 4 year intervals, bringing about Congress in 2008 to be
17th in a total number.I wish you note that, the small scale Asis-Interfinish
98 was previously held in Korea in 1998 and the upcoming 17th Interfinish
scheduled on June 16- 19, 2008 is based on this precedent. Considering
that the quality of human lives is improved by the development of
electronic industries of which more than 80% involves surface finishing
technology, I am sure that 17th Interfinish will become an exciting forum
for exchanging major technical views and therefore encourage active
participation and strong support of scientists and engineers in the surface
finishing and related areas from all over the world.

The proceedings of the symposium will be published as special issues of
international journals after the congress (SCI Journals including Journal of Korean
Physical Society (JKPS, Impact Factor about:1.2), etc. : Publication fee will be
charged before the publication). The exact list of SCI/SCI-E journals for the
proceedings will be notified later. For the publication, publication fee will be
charged. The authors are encouraged to submit the full length manuscript to the
congress secretariat on the dates of congress. The submitted manuscripts will be
reviewed. The contributed manuscripts will be limited to 4 journal pages and
plenary lectures to 6. Please find more information at the official website

Cancellation / Refund
- Please, make sure the title, authors (Including affiliations), keywords and
presentation type (oral or poster ).
- Recommended data file is MS-WORD.
- The word’s amounts should not be in excess of 500 words.
Cancellation notification must be made in written and sent to
secretariat.
Cancellations received prior to May 10, 2008 will be refunded less
US $50 for handling charge, and those received after May 10, 2008
will not be accepted.

The Pohang Iron and Steel Company, or POSCO, based in Pohang, South
