FALL ISSUE September, 2013 Vol. lI1, Issue 1 Framework A Community Newsletter published periodically by the Farmingville Residents Association, Inc. Our Mission FALL FLEA MARKET A BIG SUCCESS! To improve and develop community relations for a Unified Farmingville Our Goals ▪ Improve communication between all residents ▪ Learn to be a good neighbor ▪ Understand and respect cultural differences ▪ Enhance the Beautification of Farmingville ▪ Have an Understanding of Brookhaven Town Codes Marisa Pizza Jim Stratford Mike Underhill O ur Fall Flea Market on September 8 was the best ever! (That’s what you told us!) We were almost at capacity, with over 30 vendors, and lots of shoppers. It was a great day, with spectacular weather. We had a lot of new vendors at this market, including framed art, woodcrafts, Pampered Chef, Tupperware, fondue, and much more. Of course, our loyal vendors were there, too! FRA had popcorn and cold water for sale, as well as fall chrysanthemums. We had some unique moments. One shopper actually purchased a bracelet from the arm of our very own Marisa! Another wanted to buy “Scary”, our FRA t-shirt-clad scarecrow mascot. As tempted as we were, we had to say, “Noooo, not scary!” Farmingville Residents Association, Inc. PO Box 302 Farmingville, NY 11738 631-880-7996 This was our 3rd Flea Market at this new location, corner of Horseblock Road and Woodycrest Drive, and we seem to have found a home here. It is a very visible spot, with easy access for both vendors and shoppers, and plenty of parking. Being right across form the FRA office also has its benefits. fra23@optonline.net www.farmingvilleresidents.org A spring Flea Market will be planned for next year, probably in May. We Susie j Bogden-Sweeney have not scheduled a date yet, but will advise everyone as soon as we know. Now... you have the whole winter to get things together, and have your own space next year. You know you have been thinking about it for a long time, and have lots of things to get rid of. We hope to be able to keep the fee at $35/space, the same as we have so far. Enjoy this beautiful Fall weather! 1 Inside this issue: Upcoming Events 2 Meetings Upcoming Events COMMUNITY APPRECIATION AWARDS DINNER: FRA will hold it’s First Annual A w a r d s d i n n e r on Thursday, October 24, 6:30-9:30 pm at the Flaming Hearth on Horseblock Road in Farmingville.
