sometimes challenging. We hate to
turn people away because we don’t

The other side of the coin is
agreements with the hotels holding
many more rooms than we need and
possibly having to incur costs for
cancelling unused rooms. This

Our speaker for the evening was Scott Wilson.
Scott was a guest speaker here last year, he
started his session with a brief background about
his hockey beginnings and how he came to be
in Wilkes-Barre. We all know that he started
skating at the age of 2, when his sister was born
his parents got him ice skates as a present. He
fell in love with skating and always played ahead
of himself. He went to U-Mass/Lowell where he
felt he worked at developing his dangerously
hard shot.

Happy New Year —-2016
Scott had surgery on his hand during his time
off in the summer break so he couldn’t get in
much golf, one of his favorite pastime activities.
He also likes to relax at the lake. Some of the
players are in a bowling league during their off
time on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He also likes
to work out on the trampoline.
Scott took time to answer questions from the
members. Many were interested with what was it
like to work under Acting Coach Leach since
Sully’s promotion to Pittsburgh. Scott said Leach
is following through on the ground work laid
down by Sully. He’s a great guy and the team
respects him.
Pictured below is Laurie Nealon
being presented the autographed
Penguin Ornament from Scott
Wilson.
Scott stated that he’s the cook now and learned
a lot from Archie. He shares lodging with Dea
and Sheary. He said that he is going right home
after the game in Syracuse if he can get someone
to drive his car to Syracuse. When asked what
he was wishing for Christmas, he stated he
wanted a new garment bag.
We want to thank Scott for coming to our
meeting and answering the member’s questions,
signing autographs, and posing for pictures. We
hope that he has safe travels home over the
holidays and has a Merry Christmas and a Joyous
New Year with family members.
