Madison, WI, October 28, 2014 –– From a young age, Pat Parelli was obsessed with horses. When Pat was just 13, a horseman named Freddie Ferrera recognized his natural talent with horses and took Pat under his wing, teaching him valuable lessons on how to be more natural with animals and nature. Following a successful rodeo career, Pat decided that training horses would be the next logical step. With his unique insight into animal psychology, Pat soon became one of the best trainers around. The problem, he soon learned, was often the horses’ owners. Many of them simply lacked the skill and understanding needed to properly handle the animals he trained. So he found a way to help people become more savvy with horses. Pat coined the term Natural Horsemanship to describe his approach. Since his first seminar on March 1, 1982, Pat has presented his philosophy of “love, language, and leadership” to over one million people, including Anthony Robbins, Gene Autry, Roy Rogers, Tom Selleck, and the Queen of England! He has had over 200,000 students in 57 countries in his long-distance study program. More than 1,000 episodes of his educational and inspirational television program have been broadcast on three continents, and his magazine articles have been published in over a dozen different languages. Pat Parelli also founded the American Mule Association and the Parelli Education Institute, which supports Parelli students on their journey to becoming Parelli Professionals, with programs on Youth Horsemanship, Therapeutic Horsemanship, Horse Welfare, and more. Meet Pat Parelli at the 36th annual Midwest Horse Fair, April 17-19, at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison, WI. The Midwest Horse Fair is owned by the Wisconsin Horse Council, Inc. All proceeds from the Fair are returned to the WHC and are used to represent and foster a unified equine industry in Wisconsin, promote the equine leadership, education, service, and communication, and to take a proactive role in the future growth and development of the equine industry. ### Media Notes: • Contact Rhonda Reese or Kathy Freidel at 920-623-5515 to schedule interviews or photo opportunities. • To request a hi-res photo, or this information in a different format, please email press@midwesthorsefair.com • Visit www.MidwestHorseFair.com for additional information.
