Today, Rosslyn is undergoing a second boom, with new mixed-use developments and a vibrant, urban feel driving increases in both daytime and residential populations. 3 . Pk G.W 9 The Family, by Boaz Vaadia This 1992 bluestone sculpture depicts the Biblical family of King David, his wife, and daughter. Rosslyn serves as a proud gateway into Arlington and the Commonwealth of Virginia. This gateway status dates back to the colonial era when Awbrey’s Ferry transported passengers across the Potomac from Georgetown. The community that developed along the shore took its name from Ross Lynn, a local farm, and by 1843 the Aqueduct Bridge replaced the ferry connecting the area to D.C. Key Bridge replaced it in 1929.
