3.1 Manufacturing with the KaVo ARCTICA
3.1.1 Tools
The following tools are available for processing on the KaVo ARCTICA:
For the processing of glass-infiltrated ceramics, lithium-silicate ceramics and lithiumdi-silicate ceramics:
▪ Diamond Grinding Pin D0,6 (Mat. no. 1.008.7090)
▪ Diamond Grinding Pin D1 (Mat. no. 1.008.7088)

For the processing of titanium and plastic materials:

Before the manufacturing is started, the system displays which tools are needed for
filling an order.
3.1.2 Procedure for use of the block adapter
▶ Insert the block adapter (Mat. no. 1.008.7470) into the tool holder of the KaVo
ARCTICA Engine until it reaches the backstop.

▶ Tighten the threaded pin of the tool holder to the proper torque using the universal
tool (Mat. no. 1.009.0859).
▶ Insert the blank into the block adapter until it reaches the backstop.
(The installed rotation-securing stop prevents insertion in improper positioning)
▶ Tighten the threaded pin to the proper torque using the universal tool.
▶ After completion of the manufacturing process, undo the threaded pin with the
universal tool and take the restoration out of the block adapter.

3.1.3 Procedure for use of the GFK/tool holder
▶ Insert the GFK holder attached to the blank into the tool holder of the KaVo ARC‐
TICA Engine until it reaches the stop.
▶ Tighten the threaded pin of the tool holder to the proper torque using the universal
tool (Mat. no. 1.009.0859).
▶ After completion of the manufacturing process, undo the threaded pin with the
universal tool and take the restoration out of the holder.

3.2 Manufacturing with the KaVo Everest
Processing on the KaVo Everest requires the KaVo Everest Cam² software (Mat. no.
1.010.3699). The following tools are available for processing on the KaVo Everest:

3.2.1 Processing of materials "…for KaVo ARCTICA" with KaVo block
holder
▶ Clamp the holder gripping yoke into the KaVo Everest (see IfU KaVo Everest
CAM²).

▶ Insert "for KaVo ARCTICA" material into the gripping yoke until it reaches the
backstop.
(The installed rotation-securing stop prevents insertion in improper positioning)
▶ Tighten the threaded pin of the gripping yoke to the proper torque using the uni‐
versal tool (Mat. no. 1.009.0859).
▶ Please see the software for further instructions for use of the GA KaVo Everest
CAM².
▶ After completion of the manufacturing process, take the restoration out of the grip‐
ping yoke.
3.2.2 Circular blank processing
▶ Clamp the circular blank gripping yoke into the KaVo Everest (see IfU KaVo Ever‐
est CAM²).
▶ Check the rubber buffer rings for proper positioning, cleanliness and flexibility.

3.2.2.1 Clamping the circular blank without circular blank gripping ring

Carefully tighten the screws successively.

Excessive tightening of the screws on one side can cause the circular blank to break.

For the material parameters needed for designing the denture, please refer to the pro‐
cessing instructions of the manufacturer of the material or the instructions for use of
the CAD software employed in the process.
