Volume 15 Issue 2 Dates to Remember Illiana Shop Hop June 5 - 9 Long Arm Quilting Seminar Viking Educator Lisa Rogers July 31 Sulky Seminar Sulky Educator Nancy Sapin September 6 June 2012 Notes from Vera Joyce and I got back late last evening from the Spring Quilt Market in Kansas City. We think we made some good buying choices for promoting activities and projects that will interest and motivate you and keep you wanting to learn more. Bright colors and lots of black background quilts were very apparent. (Guess our Shop Hop quilt will fit in very well!) We ordered fabric that is only now in production so don’t expect to see the beautiful blacks and gold's that are going to make a spectacular quilt. I can’t wait to get started on that but guess I WILL wait since the fabric won’t even be here until late July. Don’t forget the Illiana Shop Hop June 5 through 9 For the last couple of years I have wanted to become a Hoop Sisters dealer so finally I said, “This is the time!” This fall I will be offering this technique. Basically, it is embroidery and quilting that is done in the hoop and when you sew the blocks together, you have a finished quilt. This fascinates me and there are a lot of interesting techniques involved. SERGER CLUB Perhaps “my biggie” is that I am going to do another Stitcher’s Garden quilt except this time all the blocks are em- June Wed., June 20 9:00 or 1:00 Thurs., June 21 1:00 or 5:30 Fri., June 22 9:00 or 1:00 August Wed., Aug. 15 9:00 - 1:00 Thurs., Aug 16 1:00 or 5:30 Fri., Aug. 17 9:00 or 1:00 broidered and then framed out so I get to be creative as I do all that framing and there will be more interesting techniques and stitches to offer you. This will be a smaller quilt but I am sure I can figure out a way to make it larger if you want your quilt larger. As you look over the class schedule and notice I have NO new classes, please don’t think I am having a lazy summer. I have lots of classes I need to finish and the most important is being on “beck and call” as we get through my granddaughter’s summer wedding. She is so very important to me and my priorities are with her at this milestone in her life. I will still be “hugging my machines” a lot and encourage you to do the same.
