St-Henri, Ste-Marthe, Québec, Canada J0P 1W0 1 800 641-4241 www.gallant.qc.ca What people are saying . . . I am very grateful that I was able to attend this Writer’s Workshop before the academic year started. Although the workshop took place during the summer, it did not feel as though I was giving up any part of my summer vacation! The time spent with colleagues and Linda was extraordinary. I would recommend this workshop to any ELA teacher. What people are saying . . . It allowed me to revisit and explore my own personal writings. As a teacher, I focus on developing my students’ writing, hardly my own. In this workshop I developed my own writing and feel confident in using my learning in the classroom with my students. It was very effective! Some of us surprised ourselves in how much we became immersed in the writing process. As I sat and pondered, forgotten memories began to emerge. Once shared and with constructive feedback given, I anxiously wrote and wrote and wrote. As a consultant, the experience I gained will help me to support teachers in developing their own sense of themselves as writers. I enjoyed the opportunity to write and revise my own pieces. Linda gave me excellent feedback on my work. It is a very relevant form of PD to learn by DOING and not simply by being told. Thank you for organizing the workshop. These prices include 3 meals a day and access to all hotel facilities. Participants will be booking their hotel reservations; additional information will be provided following your registration. You must register on-line at LCEEQ.ca Once you have registered on-line you will receive information about making your reservations at the hotel. Online registration is available so don’t delay – we suspect that the limited number of places will fill up quickly. Former participants are most welcome to register. Linda Rief is a dynamic and creative teacher and writer who is passionate about her students and her subject. This is more than evident in the way she conducts her workshop, the time she gives to each individual and her openness and willingness to share resources and her rich experience without reserve. I thoroughly enjoyed learning very practical ideas for the classroom as well as doing my own writing with a wonderful community of individuals. This workshop proved that with the right attitude, mindset, and tools, everyone can write something that is personally meaningful. I would strongly recommend this enriching workshop to other educators and writers.
