Mission Sunday
137th Church Anniversary
It brings me much pleasure to extend this special invitation to the
members and friends of Ebenezer, West to join us on Sunday, August
23rd at the 10:00 am worship service to celebrate the 137th anniversary
of this great church. Following the worship service, please join us in the
Fellowship Hall for a reception. It has been 137 wonderful and blessed
years attending to the spiritual needs of the membership, local
community and the national and international community.
We hope to see many friends and families at this special event.
However, this can only be accomplished if every member does their
part in sharing this observance with others. This anniversary celebration
is an opportunity to thank God for all His provisions to the Ebenezer
family for 137 years. Each member of Ebenezer is asked to come
prepared to offer a sacrificial anniversary offering based on your
commitment, dedication, loyalty to the church in honor of the One who
Sacrificed His All for you.

Music Arts Drama Dance Ministry
During the months of June and July members of the M.A.D.D. Ministry
and the EBCW Music Ministry were blessed to be able to share some
special time with the lovely people at the Athens Community Council on
Aging (ACCA). We sang songs, shared God’s Word, played BINGO and
helped to serve lunch to members of the ACCA.
We look forward to returning in the future and, hopefully, bringing more
EBCW members with us to experience the joy and happiness that only
ACCA can bring! Our only hope is that we were a blessing to those in
attendance because they certainly blessed us!
(Ministry Members: Christina Turner, Kimberly and Steve Almond, Marcel,
Chandra and Makenna Mincey, Erica and Rosalyn Chandler, Robert Tucker,
Fredric Creamer and Dr. Tony Rucker)

“FEED MY SHEEP” Teacher’s Workshop
The 2015 Christian Education Teacher’s Workshop is Saturday, August 15
in the Fellowship Hall from 9:30 am to 12 noon. This workshop is open to
all current teachers and the following ministries: Sunday School,
Wednesday Bible Study, Thursday Bible Study, Saturday Bible Study, Kids
for Christ Children’s Church, Ministry Chaplain and Advisors, and for any
persons interested in teaching in 2015.
The workshop will focus on Bible study teaching skills, the use of
technology and visual aids in small group study, and introduce the new fall
curriculum for Wednesday and Sunday classes. Light refreshments will be
served.
This fall kicks off our new Wednesday Bible Study curriculum entitled,
Bible Studies for Life-When the Bible Meets Life. “In chapter 4 of John's
gospel, Jesus encountered a lonely, outcast woman at a well. Through a
series of questions, Jesus connected with her right where she was, and
helped her see how He was the answer to her greatest need. That brief
conversation inevitably resulted in a life, and even a community, redirected
in pursuit of Jesus Christ. Our people, all of them, need Jesus to meet them
right where they are in life. They need to see how the Bible meets their lives
and they need a community of Christ followers surrounding them.” It is our
prayer that this study will…….
Connect the Unconnected
Strengthen Families and Help
Grow Mature Disciples!
Registration for Wednesday Bible Study will be August 9-23, 2015 in
the church foyer.
We will continue our current Sunday School curriculum this fall, “The
Gospel Project-The Story Begins.” This year we are adding new curriculum
for our nursery, toddlers and Pre-K children.
All members and friends of Ebenezer, West are invited to share with us in
our small group series of Bible Study each week!
