Simply the Finest Fest 2016
We had such a great time at last year’s Finest Fest, that we’re hosting another this year! Join us
for our 2nd Annual Simply the Finest Fest on Sunday, September 18th from 12-4pm in the Ray
Township Park!
We loved seeing all of our local vendors with their handmade goods and crafts, artwork,
authors, local shops and produce, and food and entertainment! We can’t wait to see what this
year’s Finest Fest brings in.
We’re still accepting vendors for this year’s festival, so if you or someone you know may be
interested, please contact Christy at (586) 749-7130 or via email at raylibrarymi@gmail.com.
Start your mornings at the library...
You asked; we delivered! Starting September 6th, every Tuesday, we
will now be open from 10am to 7pm! This gives you more time to come
visit your favorite librarians during the day.
We got ourselves back to Hogwarts!
Where everything is magical! Thank you to everyone who made our Harry Potter and the Cursed Child release party such a whomping success!
We hoped everyone enjoyed mixing their potions—that Butterbeer was delicious and an owl
told us that the Polyjuice Potion was a fan favorite. Everyone showed us their brave Gryffindor
side and tasted the Bertie Bott’s Every Flavour Beans and used their wisdom from Ravenclaw
to battle for the House Cup during trivia.
Thank you to everyone who dressed in costume—you all did an excellent job, with our special
guest, Hagrid taking the prize of the new book home!
Summer Reading Program Olympic Closing Ceremony
We had such a great turn out for this year’s Summer Reading Program! We hope everyone
learned some fun, unique ways to stay active and delicious opportunities to eat healthy. We had
40 participants complete their summer reading goals—36 children, 2 young adults, and 2
adults. Each child who completed their goal received a book of their choice, and we raffled a
$20 and $30 gift card to Barnes and Nobel to our young adult and adult readers respectively!
Thanks for making the 2016 Summer Reading Program a huge success!
