Tom Yezza - Geometric Graphics
Tom Yezza Geometric Arts Look at 346 (image at right) and count the number bisecting points on the perimeter. 128 to be exact 128 half is 64 , half is 32 half is 16 half is 08 half is 4 half is 2 half is 1. Now join an inner point to an outer point, clockwise then counter clockwise . That is it . However there are many shapes one may use as a line. Sometimes you may want to take a detour . You can however you must arrive at point B from point A . Compass + ruler + geometry + imagination . Repetition is the one constant in all my work. If I leave you confused I am sorry. This is just the pattern. Now I have to paint them. 22 Fall - Winter 2008 / Direct Art www.directart.org Above: Head Dress Ink on paper 28” x 28” At right: #346 Ink on paper www.directart.org Fall - Winter 2008 / Direct Art 23 330 Ink on paper 24 Fall - Winter 2008 / Direct Art www.directart.org FIREWHEEL Ink on paper In the field of life,I have been involved with main frame computers, bits, bytes, binary, decimal and hexadecimal numbers. Sound confusing? Good. After 21 years of daily operations, programming, systems and disaster recovery I figured it was time to retire and regain my sanity. To avoid a different form of insanity I started painting and writing poetry. I started geometric arts in 1995 and now have 300 designs of lines, curves, shapes, and di- mension. You are now the critics of whatever you wish to call these items. Criticism is easy. Please feel free to contact me. My home page has the necessary info to reach me. I will appreciate any comments.
