A list of candidates, so far, is available for viewing on the office notice board. INVOICES: Each family will have received an invoice for the school donation and other incidentals. We would like to thank the families that have already paid. It would be greatly appreciated if these could be paid as soon as possible. Part payments are most welcome. WINTER SPORT AT HAGLEY PARK: U-TURNS IN FRONT OF SCHOOL PREMISES: We would like to remind Parents/Caregivers that winter sport starts tomorrow, Thursday 19th May. Please check your child has the correct footwear, and where necessary shin pads. We have 2 netball teams and 2 soccer teams travelling by bus to Hagley Park. The cost per child to help with the bus fare will be $2.00 per week. This week the teams will be playing the following games: Parents/Caregivers are reminded not to U-turn cars in front of the school and near the crossing. We have had a couple of near misses being witnessed by our students and staff in the last week. The school will put through infringement notices to the Police if this trend continues. Please see the school office if you have any concerns about this. Netball A Team has a bye. Netball B Team versus St Francis Team 3 on Hagley Courts 29 at 1.15pm. Soccer A Team versus Hillview Aces at Carlton Corner 1 at 1 .15pm. Soccer B Team versus Ao Tawhiti Black at Christs College 2A at 1.15pm. SCHOOL CROSSING: Due to problems being experienced with the lights for the crossing outside the school turning to red when not being used, Christchurch Transport Operations Centre has had to put the crossing back to push button operation until this can be fixed. Parents/Caregivers are welcome to come along for support, and due to parking at Hagley Park are very welcome to travel on the bus with the children. Parents/Caregivers please note that for all children travelling to Hagley to play winter sport, lunchtime will commence at 12.15pm. BASKETBALL: The Year 5/6 team had an excellent start to the competition with a 24-4 win against the Papanui Pumas. Player of the day was Maia Gaitt, who shot several goals and was in fine form. Well done. Tomorrow, Thursday 19th May, the team will be playing against the Papanui Pros on Court 1 at 4pm. Parents/Caregivers are very welcome to come along to support the team. NORTH WEST ZONE CROSS COUNTRY: On Wednesday, 25th May, we have 10 children representing Bishopdale School at the North West Zone Cross Country at Jellie Park. The children will be travelling by car, with events beginning at 12.30pm. Parents/Caregivers are very welcome to come along to support the children, but will need to make their own way there. The children representing Bishopdale School are: Asher Beri, Leigh Edwards, James Bruzo, Arman Masoomi, Jayden Edwards, Lucas Heyworth, Chloe Devonshire, Natasha Farrell, Ruby Geoghegan and Shakaia Clemens.
