An online version of KIDsource is on the school district’s website at www.moorhead.k12.mn.us. Under
News and Recognition in the top menu, choose “Newsletter and Publications.” From there, select the
communications/publications folder. The KIDsource folder will be inside.
KIDsource is distributed to all elementary students in Moorhead. Copies of KIDsource are available in the
Horizon main office each month for your middle school student to pick up if interested.

Children’s Dental Services and Smiles
Across Minnesota provide preventive dental
services, such as teeth cleaning, sealants,
oral hygiene and dental fluoride, to uninsured or under-insured children, birth to 18
years, in the district. CDS makes the dental
appointment for your child to be seen at his

Nominations are being accepted for the Moorhead High School Hall of Honor.
Nomination guidelines and nomination forms are available on the Moorhead School District’s website at

Kindergarten Registration

Registration packets will be mailed in mid-January.
Register at the elementary school located within your attendance area.
Students must be 5 years of age on or before Sept. 1, 2012. Please bring proof of your child’s birthday.
Considering the Spanish Immersion Program?
Parents who are considering enrolling their children in the Moorhead School District’s K-5
Spanish Immersion Program may learn more by meeting with the principal, speaking to
immersion parents or visiting the school. Call the Ellen Hopkins Elementary office at
284-4300. To enroll your child in the Spanish Immersion Program register at Ellen
Hopkins Elementary School on Jan. 24-25.
Want a full-day option for your kindergartner?
Kinder Plus (K+) is a half-day enrichment program offered through Moorhead Community Education. Program information and fees will be included in the kindergarten
registration packet. Register through Community Education.

classes are $50. Students will conduct a presentation Staurday March 17, 1:00

EVERYONE PLAYS! EVERYONE HAS FUN! The YMCA Youth Basketball program encourages friendship, teamwork
and fun! This program is possible through generous support of volunteer youth coaches. League formats include:


Boys/Girls Grades 2 & 3 - Non-Scoring – Official timed games with official rules while no score is kept. Each
grade has its own division. Practices are one night a week for one hour and games are on Saturday mornings.
Boys/Girls Grades 4 & 5 - Scoring – Official timed games with an official score being kept. Practices are one night
a week for one hour and games are on Saturday mornings.
