PRICE, Smart Grid Project in Henares region (Madrid & Guadalajara, Spain) Project Overview 3rd National Smart Grid Webinar The Spanish Smart Grid Case 17th of December, 2015 1. Overview: PRICE demo location and goals Demonstration project located in a common area for both DSOs, the Henares Region, with the aim of acquiring the experience and knowledge on implementing and manage smart grid distributions systems. • • • • • Enhance distribution network management, using standard and interoperable solutions. Reduce the response time against curtailments, to improve the quality of supply to the customers. Extend current installations lifetime, using advanced monitoring and supervision systems. Accurate MV fault-location and analysis of the response. Implementing bidirectional real-time communication with the consumer, which make possible the establishment of demand side models using a system based on smart meters. 1. Overview: PRICE International focus European Electricity Grid Initiative (EEGI) has awarded PRICE with EEGI CORE LABEL, which represents the highest level of recognition and puts PRICE as an innovation project fully aligned with the criteria and objectives defined by the the EEGI. So PRICE becomes part of the basis to establish future projects and topics of special interest to develop. www.igreengrid-fp7.eu Collaborative project co-founded by the European Commission under the 7th FP. IGREENGrid (IntegratinG Renewables in the EuropEaN Electricity Grid) focuses on increasing the hosting capacity for Distributed Renewable Energy Sources (DRES) in power distribution grids without compromising the reliability or jeopardizing the quality of supply. Duration: 36 month (01/01/13 to 31/12/15) Budget: 6,6 M€ Composition: 12 partners from 6 EU countries The basis of the overall concept of DISCERN is to use the experience of major European DSOs with innovative technological solutions for a more efficient monitoring and control of distribution networks. The complementary nature of the demonstration sites with regard to the specific challenges as well as technological and operational solutions serve as the main resource of DISCERN. Duration: 36 month (01/02/13 to 31/01/16) Budget: 7,9 M€ Composition: 11 partners from 4 EU countries www.discern.eu 2. PRICE-RED Targets & SW/HW Developments PRICE-RED has as main target designing and developing a new interoperable smart grid platform, which integrating devices and systems in the grid, making possible the supervision and automation of the distribution grid.
